WWN (NA) In Guild Wars

Though WoW may be a ways off, E3 For Everyone is just around the corner, and the crew at WWN couldn't be more excited! (Well we could... if it was an E3 For Everyone for WoW. :))

This may be our perfect opportunity for us to play as a guild and to test out the Ventrilo voice communicator in a roleplaying game. I highly encourage everyone from WWN who are able to download and run the game, to do so!

Once the event starts (assuming it starts at 12:01 on the 12th), all WWN members should meet in the WWN Chatroom (http://wwn.worldofwar.net/chat) and Ventrilo so we can get together in game and start up a group.

If any non-WWN (NA) members would like to play with us, leave us a message and your in game name so we can contact you!

A) They're not EMP, they're WWN Europe. :p
B) I don't know if they're going to group up in the game, so they'd have to do that first.
C) Don't even know if PvP will be in the E3 For Everyone demo.

Erm, "your name" was basically forced on us, for becoming official. I personally didn't mind, but there were a few who were rather upset with this. It's interesting to read your post on that.

I'd like to play some of guildwars as well, but I won't be able to use any voice system due to a certain lack of microphones. But I could install it and listen to you guys. Is Ventrilo Freeware? If so, where can I get it?

It starts at 12.01am on the 12th PST (-7 GMT I think it is). For australia it starts at about 5pm EST on the 13th (Thursday).

Guilds are not in the game as of yet. Well there are, but all unofficial, and no guild support or features are in. IE: You can't create guilds.

modes in the game:
solo (single player)
co-op (group play)
pvp (Team versus team)

The worlds pretty big, and there's lots to do - especially for the pve mode of gameplay. For pvp there will be 1 (maybe two) casual arenas where you just enter random teams and compete.

There is also a tourney mode where you enter as a team of 5-8 players (I recomend entering as a team of 8, as you will match up against any team competing - regardless of how many players you or they have), and compete on about 7 different maps with various objectives (elimination, king of the hill, capture the flag, defend the throne). This tourney will be running constantly as well. Basically you enter as a team and fight your way to the top (each win will make you go to the next round). Once at the top you have to defend that possition for as long as you can. Once you loose, you get kicked out and have to start again from the bottom of the tourney.

so being the best in the world and holding the top levels of the tourney for extended periods of time doesn't appeal to you at all? With no seperate worlds/realms you can really say...." yes, my team is the best in the world".

On release there will be various rewards for holding the top. I think one that has been mentioned is that large sums of money and other benifites will be bestowed on the top team.

for co-op maps:
min/max party size is currently 4 (one or two of the maps may have have 5 party members as max)

for pvp maps:
tourney:
5-8 players (if you enter with less than 8 players on your team, you will be at a disadvantage)
casual pvp arenas:
I think the minimum is 4 (max is also 8 I believe). However the teams are randowmly distributed.

just noticed someone leaving his mail for f-list purposes.. however, the flist doesnt work like that. You add characters(or well, 1 character) to your f-list, and it will show whatever character that player is on currently.

for example I added Patrick Heysen(that was his main char at the moment as far as i knew) and when he is online i see "Patrick Heysen(random character)" in my list.

I'm kinda screwd out of playing with you guys (at least I have been) because I can't use ventrilo and Guildwars at the same time (believe me, I've tried). I might find some of you on tomorrow because I have the entire day off (woot) of school, during finals no less. Depending on whether me or my bro have the car I might be spending aaaaallllooootttttt of time on GW. :D

Luckily tonight (when you lazy bums were in bed) I grouped up with some good guys and we had some fun with the first mission (twice :p ) and the second one, soon to be done again lol.
