I was wondering what a heavy DoT build would be? I also wanted to steal energy, so that would be from the Me line. Can anyone post a DoT build? Also, put what skills on my bar. Thanks

Mesmer / Necromancer

Attributes: (cost) '+' indicates Rune attributes
Illusion Magic: 10+1 (61)
Inspiration Magic: 10+1 (61)
Blood Magic: 9 (48)
Curses: 7 (28)

Total attribute points used: 198/200

Skills: [Attribute] (Energy, Cast Time, Recharge TIme)
1) Conjure Phantasm [Illusion Magic] (10,1,5) Hex: For 11 seconds, target foe experiences health degeneration of 5.

2) Faintheartedness [Curses] (10,1,5) Hex: For the next 25 seconds, target foe's attack speed is reduced and that foe suffers health degeneration of 2.

3) Parasitic Bond [Curses] (10,1,2) Hex: For 20 seconds, target foe suffers health degeneration of 1. You are healed for 72 health when Parasitic Bond ends.

4) Life Siphon [Blood Magic] (10,2,2) Hex: For 20 seconds, target suffers health degeneration of 2, and you gain health regeneration of 2.

5) Life Transfer [Blood Magic] (10,2,30) Hex: For 10 seconds, target foe suffers health degeneration of 6, which you gain as health regeneration. This is an elite skill.

6) Energy Tap [Inspiration Magic] (5,3,20) Spell: Steal 13 energy from target foe.

7) Ether Feast [Inspiration Magic] (5,2,8) Spell: Target foe loses 5 energy. You are healed 23 for each point of energy lost.

8) Imagined Burden [Illusion Magic] (15,1,30) Hex: For 17 seconds, target foe moves 50% slower than normal.

This build is a true one trick pony. I have included Imagined burden so that you can run away as nessescary. You said you wanted to steal energy so I have put in Energy Tap, and also Ether Feast as a cheap self heal/energy denial, but personally I would drop Ether Feast and put in Soul Barbs. Then you have 22 spike damge everytime an enchantment or hex is cast on that target for the next 30 seconds. Which leads me on to the assisted suicide, anti-warrior, PvP gambit.

Cast Soul Barbs on the engaged Warrior, then faintheartedness, then your choice of either Life Transfer or Conjure Phantasm. If you are lucky the engaged Warrior will be too busy watching for his adrenal skills to recharge he won't notice this health bar heading for the floor. However, thier Monk team-mate should be alert enough to spot the problem. A popular Monk tactic, I know I play a Monk also, is to have attributes in Divine Favor and Healing Prayers and Cast Healing Breeze on the DoT effected Warrior. Of course that is an enhantment, and if you are lucky they will drop dead as a result of the attempted heal. Even If they don't counteract the health regen with your health degen arsenal.

Health Degen caps at neg 7 or neg 9 or something though right?

Edit: Nevermind, read -10 in another thread with extra arrows left to combat things like Healing Breeze and Troll Ungent.
