ventrilo install help!

well, i'm trying to install ventrilo, and it keeps saying,

when it is
"computing space requirements"
that it can not access network location:

%USERPROFILE%\START\

and an option to retry or cancel (canceling quits the instalation... retry just keeps going on and on

now... I want to install ventrilo, but with this, i don';t seem to be able to... I was wondering if anyone knows how to get past this?

oh yea... it also says something like "Error 1606 or something.

Sounds like you might be using some ancient windows meaning 95, 98 or ME.

I have that exact same problem and I am operating on the latest version of Windows XP - all of the product updates available are downloaded. I just purchased my new machine - a laptop - several weeks ago and ventrilo works fine on my desktop.

I get that same error message during installation, and I really really really wish someone would help me out because my guild switched from TS to Vent and I can't GvG anymore...

(And we're ranked 166 now so we fight a lot to keep moving up)
