Being a geek, and wanting to get some metrics and build cool stuff for my guild of geeks, I was just wondering if there would be any traction on this suggestion:

That Areanet add something to the game, such that:

any account (as opposed to character) can choose to "enable" a API into their characters
doing so assigns a totally seperate, non-changeable, random password for use with the API
the API can be used to read things such as:

login/logout times, gameplay times (could be used to generate hours-of-week overlap graphs to see when people in my guild are on, for example)
current inventory (would assist with folks who like to trade items offline via rpgtraders, etc)

the information available through the API must be "opted for" by the account. For example, i'd love to opt for "where I am" information (mapname, district) to be available, because my guild would love to have a "here's where we are" kind of thing. As would the LJ guildwars community, which includes many people from many guilds -- all in the quest for finding responsible people to play with.

So.. whaddya think? What else could be added to the API that would be useful, yet not compromise/enable "bad use"?

That would be wonderful, I would love to have this, and xml web service could do the job.

Since there is no montly cost and those service take bandwith and need special attention, I douth we would have it but that would be great.
