Why cant I hear anyone on my VENT!?

Hello, I am a newb to ventrilo and I just installed it. The mic works fine i can hear out of it but when i join a channel I can't hear the other ppl talking when it says they are and no one can hear me either. But i do hear when it says ppl have logged off. I'm in desperate need of help, because i have to get this working ASAP. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe my settings are wrong? I don't know. :( :confused:

I am not familiar with that particular program, but from past troubleshooting of other chat programs I will suggest that you check your OS sound settings. First check to make sure that you mic does not get muted, XP has a habit of muting it automatically after a few things change. Then check to make sure your other audio sources are on and turned up enough. If that doesn't fix it then you need to check the FAQ at the support site for the software.

from using ts, I know that in order to talk, you need to press a key to talk, there might be a setting like that under the options
