I had a look on this forum and i saw no maps to help people with running, so I've decided to make this thread where people could post their running maps (with routes) for other people to see.
I have made this map for the new Desert runners out there to know the routes. Took me about 45 mins to make and looks failry crude, but all the details are on there. If there is anything else you can add to this map, then say so and ill update it.

I hope some people find this useful :xmas5:
If you have any other running maps you would like to share with everyone, please post it here, so that everyone can see it, or make a request for a running map.

Your secondary route to dunes is wrong. You don't need to go backwards that far. Infact you don't need to go backwards at all you can go a similar route for the teleporter but just cut off. If you want to know where contact me in game. Ace Bear.

I see the route you mean, I'll update the map soon. Although, I do say that that route is not reccomended becasue its tight passage and lots of enemies with Hamstring attack. Teleporter route is by far the easiest route when Griffons dont block it.

From Destiny to Thirsty you can also go through the valley.
This avoids the narrow bridge that gets blocked sometimes.

Ok, the map has been updated with alternate routes for Dunes of Despair and Thirsty River added. Im glad to hear people like it :)
Tbh, I've never encountered the bridge to be blocked. So its more a case of personal preference for which route you take.

Oh, and I might be adding a map for the Yaks Bend run from Ascalon. This will take you through Piken and Grenditch, then up through the Ascalon Highlands to the Northen Shiverpeaks, and then to Yaks Bend. I've done it a couple of times so its pretty easy. Even if you cant make any cash from it, its always good to be helpful to newbies :)

And as I said in my first post, if you have any maps as running guides, or you could go out of your time to make some running maps, then please do. E.G. Sanctum Cay run map, or Yaks Bend to Brecons Perch without doing the missions. Show us some different runs, or show us classic ones like Droknars Run map or any other popular ones.

I'd like to see a large collection of maps here for anyone to use, rather than having to search the net for the maps they need. If you need me to map the route, then press U, make the box fill your screen and press Print Screen to take a screenshot(s) of the route. U gets rid of clouds, so is easier to see the route.

Just send the files to mystdesigns@gmail.com , and any comments on the route you wish to say. I'll then try running the route and then map it, post routes and then post the map on here.

That's one excellent map, doodman. :)

The notes really do make it 100% more useful than just the routes alone, which is pretty damn handy just by itself. :)

Indeed, very well done. doodman, would you consider letting us host it in our cartography section for all to see?

Go for it, I'm glad I've been of some help. :D And I'm very glad the notes have been useful aswell. My real name is Duncan Ogle if you want it for the cartography section

Ok, last update on this the desert map. Now is fully explored, and I re-made all the lines to the routes to be thinner so the route itself is easier to see. Fixed some typos and made edges and info neater.

Next map: Temple of the Ages - Fishermans Haven - Sanctum Cay - Sanctum Cay mission - Amnoon Oasis

And yes, I did realise I put my name in the last post, when my name is already on the map... Arn't I the clever one?

Sorry for not getting it up yet; I had a rough week and I need to go away for a few days. I will try and get it up next week.

Tell me what you think people, and what needs adding to it (if there is anything:grin: )

EDIT: Oh, and just outside Sanctum you can see the games best crafter, who crafts absolutly nothing! He doesnt even have a name lol. Nice one Anet for leaving him there.

I find it eaiser that when leaving Fishermans Haven to go up on the hill then along the beach. You will only run into some small mobs of Bog Scale and a small group of Avrica. Should be quicker as well.

I'm just trying to get a map up now showing that alternate route but imageshack is not loading for me.

I couldn't edit my post so here is the map that I use from Fishermans to Sanctum.

BTW Apparently that crafter can craft Ele armour when you go to him as a Ele.

Thanks, I'll put that in as an alternate route soon, and yeh, I had some problems with imageshack to get the tumbnail, but the map itself is hosted on my webspace.

And he crafts nothing for rangers, so kinda weird really. Maybe something for Anet to fix? Who knows.

EDIT: And thanks for the offer Ephemeral, I might need you sometime :) And I'd like to see maps that are useful, but not seen very much. E.G. Fort Ranik to Serenity Temple or Lions Arch to Bergen to ToA, as I havn't seen many maps of them.
Id do the LA to ToA one myself, but mesmers take my ranger out before I can get close :(

anyone who has trouble getting enough health regen from mending, put 8 healing prayers, there is no benefit to mending for more than that. Use a big energy boost staff. My R/mo uses mending, watchful, wenslaus' faith, the usual running/evasion skills, trolls, heal area. Btw, watchful spirit, great spell. Maintained enchant, nonvariable +2 pips of regen on health.
It really helps in areas with messes. They blow one off, but take longer to remove both maintained enchants. With escape, whirling, dodge, stormchaser, its fairly easy to trolls
That'll get you through some very tight spots.
