These screenies were taken whilst on my Assassin so all Rtualist attributes were set at 0, and Spawning Power is the Primary Ritualist attribute
Wow, nice work Jhadur. :flowers:

NICE! Good job, I KNOW a build of 2 Hammer warriors, 1 KD/Aftershock and the other KD/Holy Strike with a Ritualist at 16 Channeling spamming the KD spirit that increased KD time. Then there would be a trapper thatwould trap the entire area around the spirit, and a hydromancer that would snare them while in the trapped area. BWHAHAH UBER OWNAGE!
I wonder why they don't do that with monks.. heehee.

'Wunderlust' & 'Earthbind' paired-up = muchos ouchios!
Good work... But I hope to see soon what are the range of those skills. Some look really powerful with 0 attribute but may sound "weaker" at 12 and the contrary is also true!

I have to ask, if you are "holding (person X's) ashes" does that mean you can not attack as normal (just like if you were holding the gear/torch/flag etc..)?
I'm super excited to get outta work today

Yhea, it is like holding any other item basically.

Thanks Jhadur,
The skills although new are not that interesting. I guess from the first game they have learned to make the skill specific. The skills have long descriptions and specific results. Where is the fun?
So basicaly you can't use two skills involving "holding" at the same time... Good to know.
It's said: hold x for up to y seconds. Does it mean that if you haven't droped x before y seconds nothing happens, or that after y seconds you drop x (if you haven't already) with described effect?
But "binding rituals" are not limited if I understand the description of "Doom" well...

Depends on the individual skill: if you check, you'll see that some only have an effect while you're holding that item while others create an instantaneous effect the moment you drop the item (and a small number do both). So the first group are like enchantments in that they have an effect with a duration on you (except they can't be removed obviously, and can't be stacked as you can't hold more than one item at a time), and the second are like normal spells, but you pre-cast them and choose when to activate them (which is handy as you let your energy regen and the spell recharge, so you can recast as soon as you drop the item!).
So does this mean they have added material components to certain skills? Or do the ashes magically appear as soon as you activate the skill? (Sorry, at work so can't try it out.)

Magically appear.
You just cast the spell, and you have the ashes in hand like a flag.
I played Ritualist some this morning, and honestly he's AWESOME. He's very fun to play and very different from the others, seriously anyone who compared him to a D2 Druid was wrong. It's not the same at all.
The most interesting thing imo are his Weapon Spells, some of which are totally wicked (like Wailing Weapon, used that with Glyph of Renewal on my friend's Assassin and omg their monk was getting interrupted often ^^). Some weapon spell give crazy benefit and can't be removed in any way. But i think (not sure) that they aren't active if you hold Ashes, would make sense anyway.
Ritualist make great healers and great support be it offense or defense. Any team not killing our spirits were destroyed so fast. And they have some nice damage too, like Rupture Soul that hits 122 blinds everyone nearby when you destroy a spirit with it... Everytime some of us had a warrior or assassin on us, we'd run to a spirit and hit Rupture Soul.
Must be hard to wait, but it's worth it. The new classes are really awesome.

Contemplate the Consume Soul + Spirit Step (unlinked Assassin, teleport to target spirit, 5 cost, 1 cast time, 0 recharge) combo.
Spirit Spam = bye bye.
Maybe I'll change my Monk's secondary to Ritualist just so I can use Spirit Channeling. I'd like to know how the +1 and -5 change with more points in the skill.

hey tarutaru, I saw your work on the assa forum and waited for the ritualist one. Actually I think you put a lot of effort in this, not like jhardur, no personal offence, but that was just not a lot of work done there, just copy the skill descriptions at attribute 0!!!! That's just useless.
Sorry, but taru has put a lot of work into this, and it looks quite nice. Mods please sticky this one, and the one in the assassin forum, it's definitely worth the shot.

thank you very much for your kind words. it did take a little forethought to put this together. but, im just happy that in the month or more that we wont have the skills to toy with we can still see them and plan builds with.
the greatest thing I hope for is picking out and prioritizing which skills I would want to unlock first when the next preview is available.
so, thanx, and lets all enjoy it while we have it!

yes, thanks really much for the work you have done. The new skills just rock.
I got some great ideas already, and normally the builds I work out are not bad ;-)
All I say is spirit FTW, w00t!!
No honestly, I think you deserve to get a sticky ;)
I will contact you ingame, when I can play again, sadly I can't play for a few months, so I'm not able to test Factions this weekend :(
I'm fully relying on the skills reports from you guys, and thanks again to you taru. You were a big help and still are.

I rather think of it as if they carry a vial or flask that contains the ashes. Something that could be hanging from a belt. On some of the armor it looks like there might be such items worn.
Joink! Thats saved to harddrive, finally an easy to bring list of all Ri skills. Very nice work, thanks!

Just look at all those soul reaping batteries!
Oops, I mean spirits.
P.S. great list and all, but what where your ranks in the ritualist attributes when you took the screenies?
The Destruction spirit seems to be a rather powerful trap skill if timed right.

he has already said the attributes--12 (it says so on the top)
anyway good work, it would really help in deciding some really good profession combos....
i find a lot of the "weapon" skills seem imbalanced..
This list is not so useful unless you do the same with stats @ 12 attribute
Too Hot Fo You

the list sucks, and there's no real work involved.
Mods, if you read this. Unsticky this thread and sticky "Ultimate Ritualist Skill Guid" it's a great post, great picture of all skill at attribute 12, and the icon animations, please do so. For all non-mods, just go and get that picture, it's worth it.
Thanks, Jhadur. These screenshots are useful to compare the skills and what they do compared to other attributes.
Though I have to (unfortunately) agree with the impolite 'Too Hot Fo You', the skill lists created by Illusion of Grandeur are more useful and appealing, but both lists have their uses.

These are really great lists you have made. They will not just allow us to make builds more easily but also to see what skills were nerfed/changed by Anet when Factions is released. Well done

Think of tomorrow and onwards until release and what value the thread will have.
Thanks.

That list is a very impresssive piece of work and I thank you for posting and hosting it. :)

er...just search the assassin forums. I put up an identical list of their skills as i did for ritualist.

It looks to me that the restoration magic is alot better than monk
as a secondary. All monks do is heal you and give you defense but
some of these skills give you energy bonus's. Which i like:smiley:

In case you haven't checked, the Guild Wars utility The Edge (available in the Files section) has all the known Ritualist and Assassin skills. The nice thing about having them in The Edge is you can word search the skills as well as change your attributes and see the impact on a particular skill.
Question... if you are a X/Rt, can you cast weapon spells on yourself? Assassin w/ some of those would be interesting

Yes, and yes. I would expect a Ritualist/Warrior to use those a lot, but a Warrior/Ritualist could use them too.

Explain your reasonings please ...
The GWOnline "Ultimate Ritualist Skill Guide" Sticky is basically skill descriptions anyone can get from a Balthazar Priest, only these attributes are set to 0. This could be usefull incase Anet nerfs skills and we can know the difference, if so I'll just check the update page on the GW site or other sites that have done this a hell of a lot better.
For anything to be stickied as "Ultimate Ritualist Skill Guide", I would expect skill/boss locations, different skill stats depending on attrbiutes and popular combos with other skills across professions.
What may have been a decent guide pre-launch of Factions has turned into random discussions about various skills. I am disapointed, this thread is very messy imo.
P.S. It's been a while since I have looked at the pictures posted and now they don't even work for me, perhaps it's my internet settings if not it's just another reason to close thread.

no sure if anyone noticed it or not but i would like to point out that a few of those skills have been changed. for example gaze from beyond doesn't work the way it's listed in the picture. just wanted to give people a heads up.

Can't see the beautiful skill listed thats posted by poster because it all shows up as red X's
Usually everything shows up so don't know what program I need to see that list, anybody know?
PS what I really am after is elite skill locations, the others are usually available if you make sure to check all skill vendors
Elite ones are sometimes hard to find, bosses don't spawn every time, or just when you get to a boss you don't have your sig etc.
would be nice if people posted boss name, elite skill and approx location (don't want to be lazy :) )
