I had most of this build during the weekend, but looking through the skills, I found a way to improve it. The idea is to create a huge bomb centered around a Destruction sprit.
Create the Destruction and wait until it's recharged again (so at least 20 seconds on it's counter). In the meantime, create a Daoshen urn. After sufficuent time has passed, cast Ancestor's Rage on yourself, target the spirit, cast Rupture Soul, then drop the urn. I managed to have all but the Ancestor's Rage, and it was easy to spike up to 200-300 damage to any foes around the spirit. Unfortunately, more often then not, the spirit was killed prematurely by foes, or everyone left the area of the spirit during the crucial time, but there was at least one battle in the mayhem of a Halls battle that caught four foes at once, dropping two and blinding the others.

yea thats really fun i was using a similar build just didnt have destruction. I got a wtf was that comment from an enemy monk once which made me laugh.
You could try using that skill that damages a foe and heals the spirits to try keep destruction alive, i think its called spirit boon stirke but im not quite sure.
I really like the potential for spike damage with the ritualist class I myself have been tinkering with a high damage build I am going to use the cruel was daoshen and channeled strike combo.

Why not cast the ancestor's rage through the spirit of destruction instead of yourself... no need to change target at that point ? Combination of Ancestor's rage + destruction + rupture soul would be something like this at 12 in channeling and Spawning power attribs: 82 + 120 + 112 = 314 damage in a second with perfect timing.... Quite a spike that is. Being secondary elementalist you can add up some 90 to that in following second...
I dont think you can cast ancestor's rage on the spirit. Basically, enchantments can't be cast on spirits... which is a bummer.
ancestors' rage is an enchantment? the ritualist skill list says its just a spell, tho u have to run up to drop cruel ash, so either way u still have to run up
Oh, I apologize for my bad wording. I'm not completely sure, but I do not think Ancestor's rage can be cast on a spirit, just as healing spells can't be used on a spirit.
Use 16 Channeling in your calculations, Everyone would run it that way anyways.

This have been discussed elsewhere on this forum... I was wondering this a while ago. According to FPE experience it certainly IS possible.

from the FPE, ancestor's rage is not an enchantment, targets do not get the enchantment ^ arrow, nor does stripping effect its triggering.
