The Edge! v1.90

GWO is pleased to announce a major update to The Edge, a Guild Wars utility. Version 1.9.0 includes the latest Factions content and a host of new features. You can do sophisticated word-searches for all skill information, sort for the most useful skills, view damage and energy use per second and adjust your attributes, armor, weapons, energy and health settings to tweak, test and document your builds.

With access to GWO content, you can use The Edge to find the locations of skills so you'll always know which quests to do and which outposts have the skill trainers you need.

And something completely unique to The Edge, you can create and test one build against another. If you want to be a great Guild Wars player, you need The Edge! For more information see the tutorial in the program.

The Edge is available for download now in the GWOnline.Net File Download Section (http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forums/files/files.php?temp_view=files.php&id=29). Note: If you get your version of The Edge directly from this trusted source you should find the program to be free of nefarious key logging and other unpleasant spy code. when i try to run the installer i get a message saying that the installer is incomplete or corrupted. what do i do?

Are you downloading it first or are you trying to open it without keeping the .exe on your hard drive.

I often get this error with zip/rar files if i don't download them to my desktop.. open them .. and then delete them once I've decompressed the files.

whenever i click on Other Data thing, and then the armor crafting for example, it tells me my operating system has blocked the program from accessing the file, then it names an internet page from gwonline.net. how do i fix this?

The Edge has been discussed many times on this forum. It isn't an add-in to GW. It is a really handy, standalone utility. GWO is the only place authorized to host the file download so as long as you get it from GWO, it is safe. By the way, version 2.0 was released right before Factions and it has a lot of cool updates. When ArenaNet update skills and they are reflected on GWO, The Edge accesses this info and makes it available to the people using the program.

All that being said, it is my understanding that GWO hasn't yet restored the Files download section for any of the files they host. I expect it has been a pretty big task revamping the website. Perhaps a moderator can comment on when the files section will become available again.

I have Edge V2.0 and I couldn't find this feature. Is it just me, or it was removed?
I read something like that, but I am not sure.
If it was removed, is there a way to get the V1.9?

I just installed v2.0 and I got the following error.

Run-time error '339':
Component 'MSINET.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

Anyone know what went wrong here?

Th Nightfall version of The Edge is now posted in the GW Files section at:

The tutorial explains all the new features. All of the Nightfall skills are included.

We need to get this sticky changed to the latest version number and have it mention Nightfall. Of note, the people that already have The Edge get a reminder when they run the program when a new version is posted so they can get an update.

Hmm, well I just tried it and it works. Takes you to Rushter's (moderator) thread and at the bottom of his initial message is a link to the latest version of The Edge. Clicking that launches a download window. Good luck.
