I'm almost completely convinced that my first character on Factions will be an Elementalist Primary. What i can't decide is whether to go E/A or E/Rt.

Has anyone else dug into possible builds for an E/Rt?

I've never played E/mo so I don't know some of the obvious combos to go for.

I'll be posting again with some rough ideas, but i'm really looking for some feedback from the "monk in disguise" community. :listen:

I built this pretty quick, but it does everything except hex removal.

Easily will bring it against assassins even if they get the jump on you.

Energy Storage: 16 (12+4)
Restoration Magic: 12

Soothing Memories (Restoration Magic)
Vengeful Weapon (Restoration Magic)
Mend Body and Soul (Restoration Magic)
Weapon of Warding (Restoration Magic)
Glyph of Concentration (Elementalist other)
Ether Prodigy [Elite] (Energy Storage)
Recuperation (Restoration Magic)
Lively Was Naomei (Restoration Magic)

Sorry if I misunderstood your post, but why are you assuming that the Ritualist is a "monk in disguise"? There are a bunch of spells that do damage, most Lightning Damage, and those would work nicely with Thunderclap and many other Air Magic spells.

Spirit Rift + Lightning Surge + Channeled Strike + Cruel Was Daoshen, for example, would hurt a lot.

I was primarily refering to the people that play E/mo Smiters, E/mo with Heal party, etc.

I'm not limiting it to that though. I'm interested in any build that runs on E/Rt.

That is a nice combo Erasculio. I never thought about stacking lightning surge in with it.

Some more things I have thought about:

Maybe it would be possible to use Earthbind (that makes every enemy remains 3 seconds on the ground when knocked down) for the combo Earthquake -> Glyph of Renewal -> Aftershock -> Aftershock. The problem here is the huge after cast of Aftershock, that could make this impossible.

You could also use the Earth Magic wards to protect your spirits, both against melee and against elemental damage, but this would work better with the healing spirits (since most of the the damage dealers lose health by themselves).

Yeah i've been keeping my eye on earthbind.

I think we're going to see some team builds that use it.

I've seen some talks already about Earthbind / Thunderclap, but I think that is too easily stopped.

Assassin is bringing some new knockdown skills into the game though.

3 second knockdown for an assassin is like 4 free hits. .. .5 or 6 with increased attack speed.

Utilising Grasping Was Kuurong (knockdown upon dropping item) and Aftershock has some potential in there due to the fact that people can't see who you're going to use it on in advance and thus move out of the way. Also good for controlled hero interrupts through spellbreaker.

By far E/Rt would be better, in my opinion.
Spirit Channeling* would be most useful in an Elementalist's use.
Grasping Was Kuurong+Aftershock is a very nice tactic (Well done Almas).

With Assassin, lots of their attacks steal energy, but it requires the elementalist to attack with daggers, which is not even considerable. The evasion would be useful though.
