Gaile appeared in LA today and she wasn't happy. While I usually don't go into details about the chat logs since I'd rather let you make up your own minds about whats said I will say this:
To any of you scammers out there who read this.
I suggest you change your ways sharpish less you have one of ANet's Boots of Banning imprinted on your backside.
That said on with the logs.

It's a pity that the cap with the best Gaile quote of the year had a skill help tab covering it and by the time I relised this, it had been removed from the chat screen. Ah well I'm sure someone out there has it.
Enjoy.
Mal.
What was the line? Maybe I can help out, logged everything, too

Hmm I just read the first bit and find it a little worrying. example:
Player A creates a character with a particular name
Some guy on the other side of the world, joins a GW forum with the same or similar name, becomes a mod.
So Player A gets banned for this if this random guy on some random fansite gets in a hissy fit cause he thinks he has a right to the name ingame too?
Even if the forum user created the forum name first. You cannot just ban someone from the game for having a similar or same name of someone you didn't even know existed.
Clearly I'm missing the point here because this just sounds very wrong to me.

Yea, you missed one little important peice.
The people with the same names as mod on fansites are scamming people, giving bad names to the mods. Thats what she was speaking about.
Um... How is this any better or any worse then scamming in general? Shouldn't she be that worked about all of it? Kind of ironic to see statements like that when I know of 2-3 scammers that've never recieved anything more then a few "time-outs."
Ah well, nothing is perfect I suppose.

Thanks again for the logs. I guess this one should have a subtitle of 'The Empire Strikes back..;

I was there as well, but I didn't log that line, sorry  I think I know the one you're talking about, the one on Gaile's Baning Boots. That was a nice one.
I'm glad to know there's hope for the urns thing and the "buy more slots" thing as well. Thanks for the log, Mal!

I wonder if the extra space suggestion will be in the form of more things being stackable? Runes of the same type for example don't currently stack, and they would work in stacks, like dyes do. Not sure how they'd handle stacking weapons or armor though.

The following really is very hopeful indeed: "We're still finalizing storage but the designers told me there will be improvements very, very soon. If not at release of factions than soon thereafter."
Let's hope it's 50 exra slots!!

Only 50? With the collections of armor you have? You'll still be running out of space

Mal and the rest that log these, I had no idea what you all where up against and what took place. I have been trying to get in one of these for weeks and finally was successful. Mal by the way, about 1/2 way through I was standing to your left, didnt realize it until I started looking around.
I have to say to EVERYONE who does the logs.. GREAT WORK you deserve all the praise you get from doing these.
Well from what I have seen and what was said I believe that my 1st Gaile chat was an evertful one, with serveral ummmm... idiots (guess that works) in the crowd. Glad to see they where dealt with at least for a little while.
It was great because she even answered a question of mine. I asked how a casual player was to get into the elite mission. Her reply was "I think that casual players can definitely acquire the rewards". I am going to look at this in a positive light.
I am also glad that storage is being addresses and hopefully will be changed soon.
I hope to get to attend more of these but normally she is on after I have to go to bed.
Again Mal & the rest who log Gaile's chats. You dont get enough praise for doing it. I dont think I could. :flowers:

Hmm yes but it will take the strain off my mesmer assistant mule
Although I'm very afraid that with the 8 new faction armour sets .. I don't want to think about it!!!

Of course you can obtain them as casual player!
I'll sell them to you for a bargain

Same for xp scrolls! But indeed, I have a number of vigours for new armour sets and they take up a lot of space! :undecided:

HAHA... I do hope that this will not be the way a casual player will get the rewards from elite missions. Hopefully there is another way.

Maybe something like that, you click an item (weapon/offhand/armor) and it gives a list of whats what in that slot, maybe drag n drop the text or maybe text+smaller icon either to drop, trade, equipt or something, while runes, scrolls would work like dyes.

Thanks for the log Mal, I was hoping she would answer that question more specifically. Can anyone tell me exactly how the elite mission mechanism will work? :confused1:

Hahaha of course I was just joking ... but it struck me that Gaile's answer was a bit ... very diplomatic!
It doesn´t say you will even be able to enter the "elite" areas nor that you will be able to get the rewards (whatever they may be) by any other means as buying them from other players.

I don't think that any player knows exactly yet. But it seems that the alliance that gains the most luxon/kurzick faction points within a given amount of time will get town control.
It also seems that you can't fight/aquire those points for a specific town, but that you will get one town appointed and the alliance with most points will get control over the capital city.
This mechanism will be reset after a given amount of time, and if you get a town to control you're the only alliance that can access the corresponding elite mission.
Although I question if the top alliance at that moment can't access "lower town" missions?
Honestly, given this scenario I don't see how a casual player or even player without guild would ever be able to enter the elite areas.
But well, we'll just have to wait and see .....

I rather suspect the storage with "improved efficiency" will have to do with stacking all crafting materials together, maybe armor, and maybe holiday items. Perhaps adding seperate areas just for materials, or armor, or holiday items? Another type of full-account storage that automatically holds all crafting materials you gain on any character? Who knows, it could be.... interesting.

Yup, there's also a chance it could backfire on us too.
I mentioned once an idea for special storage for all the armor sets, separate from regular storage/inventory. Saving space, but only allowing one set of each type of armor per character.
It might end up just being an increase in stacking from 250 to 999 or something.

I seriously doubt that it'll be lmited to JUST the alliance.
So more than likely, if you want to farm those places, you give a member of the alliance a k or so, they bring you in and leave or so.

I know, most of her answers are that way, diplomatic. I do understand why she replies that way becasue things change, but comeon ANET give us something that is a little more balck & white.
At the same time I could not do what she does. I was so mad at how she was treated that if I was her I would have banned almost everyone there, just to clear the place regardless if they where trouble or not.
She did take a lot of abuse and to be able to answer any question with a level head is remarkable. My hats off to her for that.

If they made the change where we could stack up from 250 to a higher number it will not help me out that much. Maybe free up 1 space. Overall a more compartment style storage. Ashberry I am guessing your idea was something along the lines of one compartment for crafting, one for armor, one for weapons, etc., and each has x amount of spaces in it.

Here's a thought..
Someone once posted a pic of one of these faction guys, the ones you could use your faction points with. And there was a choice for buying favor. But AFAIK it didn't work at the time, and most including myself thought it was for buying your way into UW/FoW when your region didn't have favor.
But what if that has something to do with it? You use faction to buy your way into the elite missions but only if your faction has control of the outpost in question?
It would be a better alternative than being stuck paying for overpriced items, or pretending to be female to get them free lol. Neither of which is much fun.. one harms the bank balance, the other harms the mind

One of my idea's was a specific slot for specific item yeah. But the higher amounts stackable in each slot would just use regular slots, nothing would change in storage or our inventories with regards the number of slots. Just how much you could effectively carry, filling slots up with more stackable items than you can at the moment.
But your right, the benefits would be pretty small unless you make a habit of salvaging and keeping absolutely everything, as during the normal course of playing (without farming much) it can take a while to build up just 250 of most salvaged items.
