There were some problems with the Friends list. Gaile was online for a little while, then disappeared from the Friends list. Which is, I'm sure, why Mal wasn't there to log.

Nice work, yeah there were alot of technical difficulties this conversation.
And for me, especially, I learned for the first time that Gaile can switch her lavender chat color on and off at will...
Ah, so there WAS somebody there logging from the start. :smiley: I took screenshots (192 of them, to be exact), just to be safe, but looks like you got everything from start to finish.

Ok did i read that right? In the first screen.... did she say the skill balances arent happening until the 17th now?

Ah, so there WAS somebody there logging from the start. :smiley: I took screenshots (192 of them, to be exact), just to be safe, but looks like you got everything from start to finish.
Jiminy crickets. 192? I took 20 screenshots.
I did notice a lot of spam. With local chat off, you'd think that this wouldn't be evident. But the chat log only holds so many lines, no matter how much is being displayed. And two or three shots were only one or two lines long. I can only imagine what local chat must have looked like.

Direct Song has a funnier one. If you have a problem with their music in GW, caused by their own coding (directsongs that is).. uninstall media player instead.. lol.

Trouble is, when she turns her Purple Dev Colour of Awesomeness off, her speech is treated the same as regular Local Chat (noticed this during the FPE) which means you may miss bits.
I'm not slightly worried about the new dances. I'm just hoping that it's the regular dances, just with some backup dancers added. It's of the utmost importance that my Rit is able to do the Napoleon Dynamite boogie ;p

I've seen her on a few times but have never been able to get into Int. D1 cause it's full.
Could someone ask if she ever gets tired of answering the same questions every time she is there?

I did take a peek at local when she mentioned forgetting the Purple Dev Colour of Awesomeness. It was just a repetition of what she said right before mentioning forgetting the purple. I've seen Gaile in Lion's Arch a few times, and a few times in the Marketplace in Cantha for the FPE. I haven't logged too many of them, so most of the time I watch local chat. And every single time I've seeb Gaile forget the Purple Dev Colour of Awesomeness, she's repeated the line again with the Purple Dev Colour of Awesomeness.
Short answer: I wouldn't worry about missing anything.

Yep. Another thing that I do is edit the chat window (in options, go to customize interface) and make it huge. Also lends towards smaller number of screenshots, which is less merging of images, which is less work, which is... you get the idea. ^_^
I'd like to thank the boat crew for logging all of the chats w/ Gaile.
Me too. They do an awesome job.
(Note: I'm not part of the boat crew, just was online and noticed that they weren't.)

Actually, this is good news for both your pve AND pvp folks out there. the question was actually about post-pve mission scorecharts, but gaile commented about there being much more functionality and usefulness to the scorecharts in the future for everything.
Why didn't anyone ask about the Balance Updates? :(
We did. And she answered. Balance updates take place the day after these playoffs are over, and she said the eariest this would happen would be Monday the 17th.

Hmm...anyone looking forward to being able to buy slots? I'm guessing the slots refers to character slots AS WELL as storage slots right? Wouldn't it slightly defeat a purpose of GW? Playing for free, but you have to pay to get more character slots (if you want to) in order to play more?

I would love to be able to buy a character slot or two. Right now, if I want to have a character with each primary profession, the only way to do it is to buy 2 unlinked accounts. I don't want to do that, but I would happily shell out a few bucks for an expansion slot for my current account.

As I've said before, don't mind purchasable character slots so long as we're given the extra 2 per chapter (yes even if they have no extra professions in them). I'd feel a bit jipped that we weren't given more storage for free but can continue muling characters otherwise.
the purchasable slot seems like it would be a good idea but will they cost real life money or in game money i dont know if i would get any extras if they cost real life money.

Thats what I'm afraid of. And its very unfair, sure I've only got an ele and mes with 15k on my other account. But still the principal is there. And what about those players with high level fissure wearing characters with almost all skills and tons of XP.
On the one hand, buying slots separately is a good idea. On the other it could be terrible. People will buy the slots but not be so inclined to buy the expansions. When the whole 4+4=6 thing became known, it was pretty clear that a great deal of players were wanting the slots over the content. Unless two slots come in at around the same price as an expansion, they could start to lose money.

I completely agree with you, I think this is one of the reasons this has not been implemented. Under consideration, but there will be this issue as well. Anet aims to please its fanbase, but while pleasing one side of the fanbase, they may let down the other. It's a tricky situation and we can just wait and see how it develops.

All I have to say is what!?! As it stands now if you want more character slots you have to buy multiple accounts and buy multiple copies of further chapters. Buying character slots is a much better thing.
I wonder when we will be able to buy them. I will likely buy slots so that I can have all my characters on one account. And keep my 2nd account for storage. By anet giving the people what they've been asking for an letting us buy character slots we are spending less money over all and thats been the complaint since day one. Nobody wants to have to maintain multiple accounts and spend money multiple times over in order to have the number of characters.

Real life money of course. Remember up to now if you wanted more slots you had to buy a 2nd account. But with that then you'd have to buy copies of the new chapters for each account if you wanted all the characters to have access to everything. Now with the possibilty of buying slots you will not need to buy multiple copies of everything to have all characters access to everything. As I said SteveLord in the long run you will spend less money. By the time the next chapter is out you will already begin to see savings since you will now only need to buy chapters for one account. I preordered two copies of factions but with the news from the Gaile talk I will now wait to buy the extra character slots so that I will only have to buy for one account. Some will buy a few slots while others may buy tons of slots. Thus when Gaile said its win/win she is accurate.

I'm not sure if merge is the right choice of words. Perhaps allowing those who have multiple accounts move characters from one account to the other. I don't see why they couldn't do this. They can verify that you hold both accounts and simply migrate the data to the other account. I would think it wouldn't be much different than moving a character from one server to another like other MMOs do.
Even if we couldn't in the long run you will still be saving money. And you could keep the other account(s) for storage or something. I will refrain from talking other alternatives due to whats outlined in the EULA.

That would be fine. So long as they didn't make it so slots were lost in the transition. It would certainly make things fair. I'd be happy to lose the extra storage space of a second account if I could have all the four slots from that account transfered intact to the main account, then add GW:F to that as normal. And those who just bought character slots on their own could still get as many, for slightly less than the cost of a second account. Both ways Anet would make money than, and people would have those options aswell.

Was someone able to log everything gaile said today? I did some but had to leave early. Hopefully others got everything. Still don't see a log so hope someone did, otherwise I'll just post what I have later.
