June 8th, 2006 - Gaile visit - Quick Summary

No image to text readers I have will work well so I decided to go this route. This is for those of you that want to know what Gaile said but don't want to read through 4-5 pages of purple. Remember, these are my summaries from Gaile's "best guesses" and are not "official statements" from GW or ANet.

-Gaile and many others at Anet enjoyed the recent video "Fire of Spirit and the Krytan Bomber" as seen in the fan art & videos forums.
-No new news regarding face/hair changer at this time.
-No new news regarding Chapter 3 at this time.
-New 'The Scribe' has been added to GW official site detailing in-game events and news from a player perspective.
-May have news on extra slot purchasing next Gaile visit but no date yet.
-Marriages are discussed but not anytime soon if at all.
-Gaile Theory: NPC skill seller in Guild Halls may only offer Core skills to prevent cross campaign confusion should someone in the guild not have one campaign or the other.
-Armor updates (to bring 85 to 90) should be in the next couple weeks.
-Esoteric Warriors (season 2 champs) are creating new PvP pre-set builds and offerring one build to the public to create (link on their site - can obtain from GW website).
-More weapon slots, Fissue Ranger Mask, Day/Night cyles, renaming of weapon to include player name, Touch Rangers, Messaging, Friends list upgrade (sort), emote sounds (guitar, etc.), mystery of the glowing Xunlai Chests, and other suggestions taken under advisement.
-Jewels will have a use at some point though when and what campaign are unknown.
-Changes to trade are planned and auction houses MAY be one though not a 'near future' change.
-Panda pets by players are not going to happen due to problems with other nations viewing death of one agains the law.
-New guild emblems due in about a month.
-No mention of Mac or Linux support in immediate future but still considering for longterm.
-North African theme is confirmed for Chapter 3.
-Gaile Quote of the session: Referring to players complaining about Touch Rangers "Sometimes it's easier to complain than to think. :)"
-Gaile then said the community was the best thinking one out there though.
-'Amend' is Gaile's new term for 'nerf' (gotta list this one. it was funny:laugh: ).
-Reconnects are in long term category.
-Frog quote: "In the future, a few things of interest may be found. Things of uniqueness. Things of value. Things, too, of use to citizens. Small they may be, and few in number, but still, desireable in some minor way..."

Enjoy. Hope I saved a few minutes and eye strain as usual. Sorry I don't frequent the forums as often as Mal and The Boat Crew does but I'll still try to keep up with the 'Cliff Notes' version as someone called it. :wink3:

I do hope they port GW to mac and linux... would make my life so easier.. I have to boot up my mac bootcamp just to run windows and play GW

Thanks for the great summary. I am kinda annoyed that 6 months ago auction house/easier trading was top priority and now suddenly it is "long term consideration".

Panda pets by players are not going to happen due to problems with other nations viewing death of one agains the law.
Tigers are protected and endangered species as well. It's illegal to kill them, so why not add panda's? :undecided:

I beleive this is China that has any violent images involving Panda's as illegal but I could be mistaken. They have almost a holy status I guess. This is why there are many threads now asking for "mini-pet" panda's as they are not part of combat and never die.
