View Full Version : Petition/Plea for 15k Knight's Armor and Gladiator's Helm!

Well its a question that's beginning to become timeless... where's the 15k Knight's armor? We see Warmaster Grast decked out in some fancy digs, obviously a reskin of the 1.5k Knight's armor, but as of yet have never seen it on a player. It just simply isn't there for us.
But why? Are its stats too similar to Ascalon Armor? That can't be the case, no. Other classes have armor with similar stats (rather, identical stats) so it can't be that.
And what about the Gladiator's Helm? There's a 1.5k version that is rather plain. It shares the same graphics with a slew of other cheap warrior helmets, which should be offensive to any true gladiator. Though the 1.5k version uses hand-me-down graphics, the 15k version is non-existant! The shock, and horror that is the truth! Something that could have been (and hopefully will be) fantastic has been overlooked.
That's why I'm making this topic. When it boils down to why people want it, it isn't because of the uber stats, its because of the uber style. I for one do not feel complete without a 15k Gladiator's Helm... and neither do the other four pieces of 15k Gladiator's armor. They feel empty inside - incomplete without their long lost brother.
Please, let our voices be heard warriors. We need 15k Knight's Armor, and a 15k Gladiator's Helm. It is nonsensical to not have them available. So I ask those who feel the same to show your support here in this thread, yay or nay to this petition, this plea - but ultimately and not so secretively - demand... for 15k Knights and a 15k Gladiator's Helm.
To make things more interesting and perhaps easier for Anet's art department, post your suggestions as well - historical images/references for what you think the armor in question should look like. Maybe you think the Knight's armor should be merely a reskin, or perhaps you think they should overhaul the graphics - voice your opinion, and keep this thread active and interesting.

Nuh-uh, not really. You don't need it, but it would be nice to have it, it would make a lot of people happy, and since the model and textures are already there... why not?

See, if it's there, then sure, I don't see why it shouldn't be made available. It probably wouldn't take too long to actually implement. But if you're asking for a skin that is not in the game already, I can't agree anymore, it's almost like asking for a 15k version of Soldier's Armour (the collector skin). Or are you basing your request on the simple fact that Knight's is one of the armours at the Forge, the one without a deluxe version?
As for the Gladiator's Helm, we're already the only class with 15 k headgear. The lack of a helm wouldn't be too hard to integrate and explain in the theme of this particular armour... Though an expensive helm wouldn't be too bad either... meh, can't really offer too solid an opinion on this. But as a general rule, I'm always in favour of a greater variety of skins.

I would like to see 15k Knight's armour, I prefer my Knight's armour over the existing Tyrian 15k armours, so that would be really cool.

Ah, yes, since Pre-Searing, I have found Warmaster Grast's armor particularly cool. :smiley:

Add the features of Canthan crafters to Tyrian Crafters:
Seperate looks and function in Prophecies, too!

Glad to see some folks rallying together for the cause, how about your opinions on the visuals? Any photos or descriptions in mind, heck even a drawing would suffice.
I was thinking about this last night, particularly for the Knight's 15k. Though Ascalon, Plate and Dragon's are just reskins of the 1.5k, would you rather see new models (since Gladiator's 15k was given a complete graphical overhaul) for the Knight's 15k or just a reskin? I think the original models can be improved upon just a smidgen, maybe adding some horns or feathers (feathers?) to the helmet, reducing the skirt size a bit, etc.
As for the 15k Gladiator's helm I think its obvious to look at the film Gladiator for inspiration, there were some great prop artists working on that film. I'd also like to see a reskin of the 1.5k Gladiator's helm, giving it metallic textures and such. I'll have to dig around my computer for some photo references.

i all agree.. 15k knights is one that is missing.. and so is the 15k gladiators helm.. with different stats for which the liking is...
we're already the only class with 15 k headgear.
thats not true anymore.. now every profession have a atleast 3 versions of 15k headgear.. since the 15k kurz luxon and canthan excists for every character also the head gear part... so warrior no longer the only one..
i also got excited when i saw in my art book for special edition of gw i bough for extra account... in it were a rather sexy drawing of female warrior wearing 15k gladiators armor.... with a helm i have never seen.. WHERE IS IT... it would look so awsome for me female warrior

It happens. Do you think you could post that image of the female gladiator you were talking about? I didn't get the CE of Factions because.. they ran out.. plus I'm sure others would like to see it too.

Here's an image I found on Google of an actual Gladiator's helm that I think would look great with the 15k suit, and even the 1.5k suit. It adds a nice contrast because of how round it is compared to the eccentricity of the 15k suit.

But whatever, more just interested in how many really care. Though hot damn, I'd sure love to see the warriors - nay, community - rally together for the cause. The cause being phatness, and sex appeal.
Something tells me we're in for a long wait, though, should it ever end in the first place... :rolleyes:

My parade is officially being rained upon. Wet oversized inflated cartoon icons, and floats. The people are not so wet because they are underneath the inflated things... but the people on the sidelines, in a word - drenched.
How awesomely awesome would it be to see a Knight's 15k helm similar to those Priests of Baalthazar's helms? I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Why not have the Tyrian armor crafters work like Canthan - I really like the Ascalon helm look but miss out on a +1 attribute on my weapon if I use it, so I would really love Ascalon helms for for Axe, Sword and Hammer.

This is a great idea and long overdue. Hablion's armor would be awesome. I remember the first time i saw it and i wanted that armor. Like it's been said, the graphics are already there so..........

yes I think we need Glads helm that doesnt look like the same thing you get with any plain helmet. That is why I dont have mine visible.

I don't see this happening. ANet is currently focused on Chapters 2 and 3 now, I think Prophecies is more or less done with. If the art team is going to be designing new armors, they'll be for Chapter 3.
There are quite a few armors that don't have 15k (Shing Jea, Ascalon, Tyrian, and Krytan armor in Cantha, the latter three known as starter, basic, and collector armor in Tyria). Though it might be interesting to speculate on what 15k versions of these would look like, but I doubt that would happen either.
As for 15k Glad's helm... All the other classes didn't get 15k helms until Factions, and eles STILL don't have any. You warriors are lucky to have 15k Tyrian helms at all :wink:
For those who are asking to just slap an NPC skin on the warrior, it's not that simple. For one thing, there's no female version of the model (yes, I know most of you tanks play big burly men, but we do need a female model :tongue:). For another, the existing models aren't dyable. And we don't know that the NPC character models are the same shape as the player warriors anyways, the armor skin might have to be adjusted to fit them.
Creepy, I was just talking to my friend yesterday about 15K Knights when I was power leveling him.
I would love to see a 15K glads helmet and 15K knights.

Personally I think it would be really cool if they looked to Roman Centurian helmets for inspiration and incorporated elements from them. Specifically the long feathered crest that just screams ancient Rome. Obviously it would be really easy to do this and make it look awful, but if they did do this, i would really hope for something cool and regal like this.
time to revive this thing...

Coming back from the dead. Been unable to get on for a while, defintely love the gladiator helmets IBAR posted, that's exactly what I was thinking, and Krazax that would indeed make an awesome 15k Gladiator's helm.
As for 15k Knights, I was thinking the exact same thing.

ever since I found out about 15k I always wonderd why there wasnt a knight version of it I mean heck one of the cg characters they used on the box and posters has it so why shouldnt we be able to get it? Grast clearly has it so it's not like a skin doesnt exhist my main is an ele but personally I would like to see this too
