heyas;

im chopping up the HUGE tyrian map so i can actually see stuff on it... ;) so i have divided it into several regions, but i'm not sure i have the names straight. so if you could help me out here... i'd appreciate it!

northeast:

i have two regions in the northeast, one that is mostly brown, and one that is mostly green/forested. are these both the maguuma jungle, or is the green area over the sea actually krysta.. krys... something?

snowy mountains:

or is krysta the mountain region? i can't tell between the rifts map and the rune-labelled map. is the whole mountain chain called the shiverpeaks?

southwest:

is it the amnoon or crystal desert? or is the crystal desert in amnoon? or vice versa?

thanks!

To the far left of your map is Dry Top/Maguuma Jungle. Traveling right you hit Kryta near the sea and giant lakes at the top of the map.

or is krysta the mountain region?
i can't tell between the rifts map and the rune-labelled map. is the whole mountain chain called the shiverpeaks?

The whole mountain chain dividing Ascalon & Kryta is the Shiverpeaks, home to the Dwarves.

is it the amnoon or crystal desert? or is the crystal desert in amnoon? or vice versa?

Amnoon is the largest city (outpost anyway) in the Crystal Desert, across the south mountains from Ascalon.

As added info, the four black islands off the coast of Kryta is the Fire Island Chain.

You can find this information here - http://www.guildwars.com/theworld/tyria/regions/default.php

I'm guessing welcome to the Lore forum btw, I hope you enjoy your stay here.

First you have the devastated kingdom of Ascalon. I believe you are already familiar with this area, and knw full well how inhospitable it is.
Then you have the Shiverpeak Mountains. They're cold so dress warmly and bring extra blankets. While the northern Shiverpeaks are relatively safe for travel in armed groups, the southern is a different scene alltogether. The war between the dwarves escalated to full in these parts, and the wild creatures of the area will attack any stranger on sight.
You have Kryta, that's the middle between the mountains and the jungle. It's a beautiful place, lots of beaches, ships, people. Bring suncreme. A very strong one, there are Imps around.
Next, lies the Maguuma Jungle, that's the western-most part of the map. It's full of spiders and trolls and mud and trees and musquitoes. Bring bug spray.
After that is the Crystal Desert, with it's capitol city the oasis of Amnoon, which is also the port. The dunes are scarcely populated, and the wild regions are full of all types of wild animals, monsters and magical beasts that will gladly kill all but the most battle-ready adventurers.
EDIT: Finally, there is the Ring of Fire Island Chain, to the south-west part of the map. Pray you never need to go there. Cartographers have been sent to map the islands, but so far, none have returned. Gods only know what horrors await in the ashen rocks.

The Maguuma is in the Northwest. In the Northeast off the map is Ascalon.
Kryta and Maguuma Jungle are next to eachother

Northern and Southern Shiverpeak. Shiverpeak Mountains.

In the Southwest are the Ring of Fire Chain Islands.

However Amnoon and the Crystal Desert is in the Southeast.
Amnoon is a kinda oasis with a harbor.
The desert is called Crystal Desert.
Amnoon Oasis is inside the Crystal Desert.

oops!

great, first i can't keep left and right straight, now i'm losing east and west....

thank you kindly, all. i have my region names and maps. but now i'm curious... in the ink map images i've seen, there's tiny little names for the seas and such. i know the big central sea is named the sea of sorrows, now. what about the other major bodies of water?

The sea to the south of Lion's Arch, which extends down to the area around the peninsular system of shattered Orr, and the Ring of Fire Islands is the Sea of Sorrows.

To the north of Kryta, in the North Kryta Province and surrounding areas are the two seas jointly known as the Giant's Basins.

The small sea to the far northwest is, as far as I know, unnamed.
