View Full Version : Jade Wind Orbs and Naga Fangs...

Well, this festivals quest item is the Jade WInd Orbs. We all know know that for those who have collected 250 orbs will be able to trade them in for a mask.

Now, I participated in the head start of Factions and did the collecting of the Naga Fangs. I was able to create a new character and get a mask for it. But now being able to get to the island with my Prof char I want to be able to get a mask for it too.

My suggestion is (if possible) that GuildWars posts a Collector along with those for the Dragon Festival mask collectors that will allow those that still have 250 Naga Fangs to be able to trade them in for the same mask given out previously.

Now I am quite aware that this probably won't agree with many people or even with the GW staff, but if they would be able to do something that will allow people like me that still have the Fangs to be able to trade them in. It would be great! :sunny:

My reasoning for this is that with the limited time given to collect the fangs, the quest update given to be able to get our prof chars over to cantha, and the limited knowlage on how (if even possible) to get to the island with our prof chars at the time. We still spent time and effort collecting each and every fang to be able to get the mask and that work and effort should have rewards.

Now i'm not to sure how the post is set up.. but this is the order...
1. "I would like to see a collector put in for the mask"
2. "I would not want to see a collector put in for the mask"
3."Don't care/Neutral"

No chance of getting anything for your fangs, but if you want to get some fun out of them, type:

WTS Naga Fangs, 100g

in All chat. I've still got about 75 and I've gotten a few laughs, and been called a scammer a couple of times!

Problem is, that was a 1-day event. If you put a trader in now, people who didn't preorder could buy fangs and get one of those so-ugly-I-haven't-worn-it-once masks.

Heck, I took a day off from work to get masks for 4 characters (and play Factions early). Directions for getting to Cantha were prominantly posted on guildwars.com.

This is why masks are still special (up until now, since A-Net broke down and changed things for the criers) you were either there or you weren't.

Yea, I understand what you mean. And i'll leave you tro your opinion, but if GW puts in the collector.. even for just a little while, then ppl who have missed out either by work, problems, store mixups and other such issuses should still have the chance to get it... so what is a few more ppl get it... once all the fangs are gone, it will be over and most if not all the ppl who are still holding onto them hoppeing for something to come up get what they want, they will be happy.

I have no problem with them creating ANOTHER use for Naga Fangs, and making them available again. Heck, that's why I haven't trashed mine.

I'm sorry if you had some issue arise, but 250 fangs were as easy to get as 250 orbs. You could get them in less than an hour then go afk and come back to a hat. Sounds like you had time to get fangs, so you could have just left the computer on while standing in the monastary!

Store issues are a non-issue because you didn't need a retail version of the game to play, just a preorder code.

I respect that you still want the hat, but be happy for the extra storage space!

I'm talking about the space NOT taken up by a Tengu Mask!

My 5 characters have 2-4 novelty hats each! (soon to be 3-5) That's a lot of space that could be used for weapons or (useful) armor.

Sorry if we're "dumb as hell," but some people like to hold on to things without any known use: Rubies & Sapphires anyone?

Heck, I have a stack of red iris flowers just in case I ever happen to want to give some out! And I'll bet plenty of people around here have the tattered cape/broken flute items.

And who says they can never put in another use?

Edit: Not using capital letters, punctuation, proper spelling or any grammar at all makes you look "dumb as hell."

But however u choose to present urself is ur business. am I rite?!?!?!? lolololwtfbbq!

Well, I dumped the broken flutes since if I need one I can just head to Old Ascalon and pick up another one. But my warrior still has the Tapestry Shred which he keeps as a memento of his days adventuring with Gwen.

I would liked to have seen a collector for the mask, I am tired of having to choose which characters got the special helmets.

I can see where the OP is coming from on this and am of two minds on it. First, I hate the fact that anyone supported ArenaNet be pre-ordering, was able to get the required fangs, and was unable to get the mask. But, I don't think it fair that people who didn't preorder should be able to get the mask.

I think that the only way something like this would work is if somehow they made their servers check to see if your game has the preorder code on your account. Maybe use the same method of exchange that they used for those axes that allowed 2 axe hafts to be put on.

"Store issues are a non-issue because you didn't need a retail version of the game to play, just a preorder code."

That makes me mad. The store in my city didnt have a pre order code period and the pre order box didnt ship until a week after factions was out, then they actually had the nerve to call me and say "Mr. ***** your pre order box arrived today."

But, I knew they weren't going to have it, so I ordered one of those $25 pre order keys from ebay. It didnt work. When i tried to enter it it said it was a invalid key.

But this was still three days before the event, so, I went online and ordered a pre-order from one of those online stores the GW site pointed us to and paid the over night shipping. When my copy hadnt arived the day before the event I contacted their support and asked what the deal was, they said since it was just a couple days before the release they didnt have any more pre orders that I would be getting a real copy of GW Factions and that was what I had ordered.

So, thats my story of how I missed the event. I simply couldnt find a pre order code, but I pre ordered dang it!!! A couple times. And still have one copy of factions unopened.

Too late now, but Amazon.com had them well ahead of time, for $1 and free shipping, assuming you're in the US/Canada at least. With no obligation to get the game itself from them. If you ordered early enough, you could have gotten it weeks ahead of time, like I did. Shame you didn't hear about it in enough time, RDL

Again, I'm sorry this happened. There were lots of stories like this before the preorder event, and even threads on this site with people reporting where they had found preorder packages.

I had to go to several stores myself, several times each, before I found someone who knew what the deal was.

Heh, if you check the "Favorite Event" poll in this forum you'll see that most would agree that you didn't miss much.

I vote no. I think that it would remove any "collector" value to the masks. I think that some events, like the Dragon Festival or the Winter Festival (forget the name), should occur annually allowing people a chance to get a mask. I would guess that this Halloween we may have another shot at a pumpkin head :) However, just allowing them any old time makes them, IMO, worthless. One thing, though, is that I would like to see some value to them. I have some excess orbs and I would like to just sell them to the merchant for a couple of coins.

Actually I think you got it there... with the preorder codes perminently attached to your account, they could do something as simple as adding the mask to a trader and having it apear ONLY to those with the code..

 Only one problem with your answer there... there is no collector value.. you can't sell it!.. well you can.. but the other person couldn't wear it...

and as was say above, the best way to do this is to allow anyone with a preorder key to be able to acess the mask via collector.. the mask would only apear in the listings if you have the code...

On topic, no we don't need traders after the fact.

Well, I voted no because I believe they should be special and only available to those that were able to participate, personally. I had no problems getting my Prophecies character into Cantha and then to the main island to get her a Tengu mask.

And a side note, who still had those candy cane shards and is hoping they bring that back this Christmas?

I still have three candy canes, but I'm keeping them as souvenirs.
