This would be rather interesting. With a slightly stronger focus on PvE predicted for Chapter 3 the addition of small, non skill related features like this enhances the game quite a bit. I don't know how easy the chair/sit mechanic could be added, but I've seen guildies and players use some of the existing scenery in outposts (Like the fires on the beaches, and so forth) for gathering spots to sit down, chat and just relax between sessions.

So if they give some thought to scenic and perhaps, a little bit, private locations with good placement of objects like fireplaces, screens and so forth even in an outdoors location it would work well.

buildings are so needed in guild wars the buildings should be made to explore :)

Indeed, though it would be kind of funny to walk in a small-looking house where you're the size of the doorway and it's actually huge inside.

This is like they have in WOW. I have seen it on my sons PC and it looks good. I think there were a few comments and requests about this just before Factions came out and that limited inside building travel was made (HzH, etc).

Having said that, a much bigger labyrinth sized building area would be cool but the major factor I feel would be the viewpoint we observe from. Generally we would be looking from outside the building our character would be in. If it narrowed down when we are inside a building then that would restrict visibility as it would almost have to be first person view unless the rooms/corridors were huge.

I think that's one reason we won't have that possibility in GW (except in the current form, massive buildings with high ceilings and large open rooms). There is even a narrow corridor in SF that's a pain to navigate in third person view. And the way the engine counters with that is just removing the non-monster and non-player elements. So, if you're in a house, you wouldn't even see it because the engine would remove the walls, and furniture...

I have to agree with Lady Rhonwyn - i dont think this is within the way that the graphics engine has been designed to function.

Maybe in looking at it though a different kind of enclosures can be made?

For instance

Prophecies - These would be tents that would be like the ones you see mercahnts and NPCs in - but these for players would be empty and roomy enough that people could sit ina circle etc.

Factions - These would be like the gazebos you see in Market place etc

In these towns there would be No merchant, no quest guys no other NPCs except ones that sold hundreds of differnt beers/wines

They may also have a *tricks* merchant that would sell bean cakes and other cool but totally pointless things

I think it would be nice to see but i also dont think that with the graphics engine it would be possible at this time.
I do like ayarie's trick merchant idea though, lol

i would love it, i was hoping that all those pretty buildings in factions would have insides but again to my disappointment they turned out simply to be no more than big painted boxes, it's always bugged me that everyone was constantly outside with very few visible houses (in prophecies anyways)

I think insides of buildings are perfectly functional, see arborstone for an example. So the ceiling is built super high and it was also poorly made and falls on your head, who cares, a building like construct is still attractive.

Having castles with vast courtyards, towers and corridors would be nice, they may have to do something unqiue to work in narrow spaces, or they can work around them, I say as long as there is enough room to move the camera 3 spaces away from first person then it is far enough.

I don't think parties of people have much buisiness searching through tents and 2 foot high huts, if it is wide enough to fit a dozen people and the ceiling is high enough to aim the camera straight down at about 4 spaces then that is enough room and the ceiling can still be relatively low without clipping. Areas will need to be wide and tall enough to incorperate battle, but they don't need to have endless sky.

I say if there needs to be some camera adjustments to make this work, then make the adjustments, we are going to play another $50 for another expansion arn't we?

There are places hidden around Kryta Province that would be awesome to be able to enter and explore. The camera/view thing would be a problem though :(
