I did enjoy factions and its been a far easier task to finish than prophesies.
I didn't have to ascend for one thing, gamers in prophesies had a far harder and longer road to get a 200 pt character then those in Factions.
The new spells and skills were good and I had a great time elite capping in factions.
What I did like
The ritualist class, the affected "exploding enemies" great fun, the jade sea a wonderous place, changing battlelines on the map.
Arborstone with its collapsing scenery and the gaya hatchery mission,in fact most of the core missions were very good and the improved computer AI was excellent.
What I didn't like
The Deep, interesting place I guess but its presence has spoiled one town for me, I seldom go to Cavalon as its full of people looking for taxi's to take them there.
Ok it was a nice idea to have alliances gain control of towns but its a pain if your just an occasional player who just doesnt happen to belong to the controling alliance.
Its an inevitable fact that if you put a location on the game map people expect to get there, making them spend ages begging for entrance annoys and depresses them.
Please rethink and improve on this idea for the next GW instalment.
As for the deep well payment in jade would be reasonable have the luxon/Kurzic faction charge jade/amber for entrance.
Everyone gets to go but to go often means you have to earn or buy jade/amber
"Pet gripe"
When I as a character have saved the world and everyone is patting me on the back, it would have been nice for all the towns and cities to become open to me.
I wasn't in the Kurzic faction but the least they could do is let me visit, I just wiped out Shiro for factions sake.
The only other thing I deplore isnt really under your control and that's Assassin hating.
Its very tough to be an assassin, few seem to want them on parties
I suppose they are disliked because they tend to jump around and die rather easily compared to warriors.
Personally I think they make excellent mage killers and if used intelligently are a good addition to a party.
They really don't deserve their bad rep and assuming all assassins are useless because some are is a nonsense.
Even ritualists get ill thought of at times, Why !
Because to get maximum points in factions missions its all about finishing quickly.
Ritualists spells take a while they are a subtle class much like mesmers and need careful use.
Factions parties have no time to wait for them its all go go go.
I would rather teams got max points for finishing with no deaths or clearing out more enemies than just getting from A to B in less than 3 minutes or so.
