SF is just another high level explorable. Tomb of Primevil Kings however is an elite area. It was designed to be elite.
Try Defend Ascalon with henchies ? Elite enough for ya ? :afro:

factions does have 2 elites mission but they are not open to everyone, so, to the majority of the players in the game, factions does not have elites mission.
my hard disk probably have it, but since i cannot access it, i dont consider i have it.

well they are open, the top alliance ferry people to the elite missions so they dont get 200 hate pms and 20 polls on the fansites... which was the case once
Anet already promised the players that elite missions should be open to all, and they will be making changes, that was 6 weeks ago... thats 6 weeks of "what is the point of donating factions"

donating of factions need to have their own advantage too....and somethings as good as elite missions, should be made available to all.
well, anet will sort this out.

Sf is ... kinda elite .. but not very big, VERY pretty though!
Tombs is tough .. but not very big
Titans are elite .. but you can only do them once.
But well we had UW and FoW - although shared with factions - although they weren't very rewarding other than for the challenge.

Really? Nice!! ^^
But for the time spent to clear UW (as people do the elite areas in Cantha - to get to the end) it's hardly worthwhile.
Perhaps of Anet would put 1 end boss in both UW and FoW that would drop a unique green, people would go and play it again in stead of doing chest runs/UW starter area dual farming/solo FoW forest/solo spider farming.
But as it is now, I don't think prophecies needs an elite area.
Make the Catacombs an elite area. ^_^

Well, let's see... both games have UW and FoW (extremely challenging explorable areas with a large number of repeatable quests and valuable rare material drops, the former area being soloable by the infamous invincimonk and the latter giving the highly-desired Obsidian Armor).
Prophecies has SF (a moderately challenging area with a large number of repeatable quests and a lot of mostly-worthless greens), Tombs (a high-end 3-4 hour dungeon crawl with a few mostly-worthless greens), and the Titan quests (five non-repeatable quests of varying difficulty that give you a truckload of exp and a warm fuzzy feeling upon completion).
Factions has the Deep and Urgoz's Warren (two extremely challenging 4-5 hour dungeon crawls only available to the holding alliance and whomever's lucky enough to get ferried there, with greens that are still worth a heck of a lot but will soon be as worthless as the ones in Tombs or SF).
All in all, I think the games have it pretty equal. If anything, Prophecies has more high-end (I don't like using the term "elite" since that refers specifically to the Deep/Warren) areas, but Factions makes up for that by having more areas geared towards level 20s- in my opinion, Unwaking Waters explorable is as challenging as most of FoW.

my idea of an elite is like the faction elites:
extremely long....
extremely hard....
very hard boss at the end....
worthwhile prize as a reward.
sf..uw..topk..fow have none of these so therefor cannot be classified as elite.

For the first time today I went into Unwaking waters explorable to cap the mesmer elite there, I took on 3 of the 4 bosses I saw [both outcasts and the oni one I killed, left the saltspray dragon boss alone], I died a few times [damn Oni] and the hench annoyed me like usual, but didnt experience a full party wipe at all. Other than the Oni I have to say it was fairly easy, the shirokin were easy as they only had warriors, rangers and assassins. Meh, might of got lucky with spawns.
