Well, recently I have been seeing alot of people asking me "Can you use Guild Wars on different computers at the same time using one account?" and the answer is always no. I found a solution that might work. That solution, is secondary passwords. Here is how it works:

There will be a master account(the main account used throughout the game) and in the option menu, they will have the option of creating a different password then the one they are using, and it will be a secondary one.

They will pass the password on to the person they want to use the account with them, and that person will log in with that password.

The person using the secondary account has minimal rights. So, no deleting characters and things like that. Only the master account can do that.

I don't know if this will work, and I know it will discourage people from actually buying Guild Wars(they can go to someone they know and tell them to make them a secondary account) so maybe it will expire after a while.

This idea can virtually work for any game, but I think it would work well in an MMORPG.

I would like to know the communities thoughts on this idea.

I just don't understand... I'm sure they COULD allow you to run the game using one account at the same time on multiple PCs... but they don't WANT to. I'm sure that a large number of people would buy only one copy instead of two if that were allowed. They're not going to sabotage their own sales, and I wouldn't want them to.

Well, you haven't told us why you think this is a good idea. For me, it's a bad one. The implementation and logic behind it is workable, but there's just no reason that I can see for it to be there. It goes against the whole idea of selling software to consumers.

What would be useful is if an account could be used to spawn trial keys that expire after 14 hours / 10 days. If an account like that could only be spawned once a month we'd have a way to advertise the game and push keys onto friends who might be interested.

And they get an opportunity to play before they buy it without giving multiple people free access on one license key.

nice idea but along with many other suggestions there would be alot of reprogramming on things that dont really need fixed.
