View Full Version : Possible SOLUTION to factions poor mission participation

From the outstart of Factions, participation in missions (finding groups) was terrible. I assumed this is because I was ahead of the majority of players, so no one was to those areas yet. Now that we're deep in summer, it's obvious that the situation is MUCH worse than it ever was in prophecies. Many mission areas are almost devoid of people, and getting a team can take far longer than doing all the quests needed to get to the next mission location.

As a solution, I believe those with "Masters" titles for a mission should be given incentive to help others with those missions, and solve some of this "no one is here" problem. For those with a Masters title on that mission, if they participate in a team that successfully completes the mission, they should be rewarded an amount of faction equal to what can be obtained in the same amount of time faction farming, say an average 30 minute mission = 4k faction.

This does several things:

Gives people addtional options for faction farming rather than same old same old.
Encourages people to help out others by providing a reward for "good" deeds.
Helps eliminate frustration of those going through the game with waiting for hours to do a mission.
Does not reward those going for a title for just trying to get the mission titles (only those with Masters already will get the reward).

I really think this is the best way in Chapter 2 to solve what I see as a serious problem.

That is a good idea, I have also noticed the lack of people in mission areas and yes it is terrible...The faction would be to the controlling alliance of the mission correct? I was thinking in those uncontrolled it would be faction to balthazar...

Overall I like the idea and would like to see it, or something of the sort, implemented in the game, whether it be in this chapter or the next...

What happens in there city areas that are neither Kurzick nor Luxon? Since many people don't do any PvP at all, why would they want any Balthazar faction, either?

I just can't see why only people with Masters should get the reward. It's like punishing those who made it through with Standard or Expert, but didn't make it to the Masters because of the rest of the team. You mean they can't be just as skilled (or even more skilled) only because they happened to land a slow party?

Actually this might encourage people spamming "LFG ELITE PLAYERS ONLY" more than the minimum benefit of some people actually helping.

Not like I know anything. Just a thought.

Maybe people just need time to reach places. Factions has been out for only a couple of months, and personally I haven't made further than Nahpui yet. Because I was finishing Prophecies, and oh yeah - I have a life too.

Not to be rude or mean or anything, but what happened guild/alliance help? Many missions I can only get help IF I ask my guild/alliance. In Vizunah and Unwaking Waters, we try to get together synch'd groups to do those. As I said in another post, my husband and myself play, as well as we have 4 or 5 couples in the alliance that play as well, so it is extremely easy for us to synch up those two missions. If we can't get a full team of 16 alliance members, we spam for people to join us to fill up the rest of the parties.

Anyway, yes, I agree that there aren't a lot of people in mission areas, especially Gyala/Eternal and Unwaking. Usually the missions before that there are quite a few people and it's easy to find a group. It also depends on what time of day you are on as well.
