I noticed some quite uncommon single character builds in the tournament that were pretty interesting, and since i possibly missed a lot, i thought it'd be nice if people posted what they saw here.

Some example:

iQ's Hammer warrior against iB in game 2 had:

Devastating Hammer
Hammer Bash
Counter Blow
Bull's Strike
Shock
Crushing Blow
Rush
Rez Signet

(correct me if i mixed a skill, but i'm pretty sure that's what it was). A build purely aimed at doing KD over and over that you nearly never see and that mostly worked on keeping an enemy warrior out of the fight. Seemed to work well and was quite interesting to watch in action.

Iirc, WM used a very original W/N too to annoy runners. Sadly i don't remember the full skill set and can't watch again atm, but i remember the uncommon utility part of the skill set:

Strip Enchantment
Shield Bash
Plague Touch
Healing Signet

The uncommon part was Shield Bash, which the warrior used against Crippling Shot ranger when activating Healing Sig to be sure to block the interrupt coming. At the same time, it's a very good skill if an Assassin tries to gank you, since you can use this even when knocked by Shock and it will disable Falling Spider (23 sec total) and knock the assassin, giving you the advantage from that point. Strip Enchant i guess can be nice against E/Mos as enchant strip and extra self-heal, and Plague Touch is just always useful to have. It didn't seem enough to beat a Crippling Shot ranger (cooldown on Crippling Shot is just too short) but there is nice ideas in there nevertheless.

Anyone else got some nice original builds they noticed during GWFC?

Bloodlight using Shock Arrow on an A/E = new metagame.

WM was running that Shield Bash in all their matches before the championship, so I wasn't surprised at all. The 3 mesmers were. But that is a teambuild, not a solo character. And except for that annoying hammerwarrior, I didn't notice anything special.

WBut that is a teambuild, not a solo character.

most of the 'original' player builds were and should be looked at as such

then again, i won't be surprised to see a player in random arena using a A/Mo with life bond after watching WM

You're right, forgot about the Me/Mo and the A/Mo running Life Bond. Too bad they had no room for Mending this time.
