since the 6v6 event, ive been hearing alot of people wanting map changes in HA, so here is a poll to see what community members think
if you vote yes and have good ideas for possible maps, please input them as well.
IMO, they should change some of the maps in HA and also add 6v6 as a new arena type.
EVERYONE i know hates scarred earth because you have to beat 2 team, and often have to wait for ages as the other teams battle it out.
Rather than add new maps for HA, I'd rather that effort go into making more types of PvP, preferably the ones people can really get into. Like make another arena which comes with its own exclusive PvP title and emotes and different gameplay and maps. Right now the only "serious" PvP only involves groups of 8. TA is the second closest thing, but it doesn't offer anything a player cannot get from RA.
Yes More Maps Shoulf be added to HA.
Predictable cookie cutter builds would become less likely/possible to hold the halls - As not one build could cater to be strong in every area.
As HA still contorls access to UW/FoW and this is added to every chapter as the highest/special area - then interest needs to be seen in HA.
With more variety im sure older players may go back to HA,
If more variety did effect the cookie cutter demand then obviously HA would be a better place?

There should be "Yes they should spend time on this" or "No they should spend their time on something else"
more special events like the double points reward would be a good idea.certainley got me playing HA a lot more:rolleyes:

I've been thinking the same thing for a while now, since alot of the maps are from the very early days of GW.
Personally I would like to see a few more maps which have more teams on them and a few more relic maps appearing earlier
New maps with variable end games.
Yes, we absolutly need new maps for Heroes' Ascent. Ones with victory conditions that don't suck, and actualy encourage more tactical play and build diversity would be great, IMHO.
I'd really like to see maps with control points(or multiple control points) that have bonuses that are actualy worthwhile(Morale, or a res shrine, for example), less non-kiting NPCs, and all in all more tactical movement, adding control points like that to some maps, or even adding victory conditions based upon control points, would really help encourage build diversity. Perhaps even have enviromental effects like you find on some of the Factions GvG maps, such as Spiked Coral, Stone Spores, and Blessed Water, just please with different names and effects.
At the very least, though, change/remove Scarred Earth.

Please no... The good old days of 6-way burial mounds are long gone and we hope they never come back. The best skip in the game is from Broken Tower to Unholy Temples (coming in close second is the skip from Dark Chambers to Sacred Temples). I still groan everytime we have to play Scarred Earth or Courtyard.
I would like to see the time limit on Courtyard reduced similar to what was done for HoH (although not so much, 6 mins would be enough). As it is now, you stand around staring at each other for 4-6 mins before anyone makes a move.

Personally, I would like to see more maps that require different tactics for victory, and thats about it. Scarred sucks, but I can deal with it most of the time, though changing to just 1v1 or getting rid of it completely would make a lot of runs go faster, and that makes me happy. Courtyard is just...meh. I have skipped it a lot of times and have had only 3-4 recent victories with my guild that I can remember. Reducing the timer on it to about 6 minutes as bellissima suggested would be nice, but other than the usual (although this only happens to me about 50% of the time, other times Im getting gangbanged :X) 7-8 minute wait, its not so bad.
More ganking maps would be fun like the old 6 way maps, But not like the old one in the early rounds. A Map in the highlvl sections. So the teams who make it to the higher maps gets the chance to gank each other :D
If they were to reinstate a massive gangbang map... a true 6 way, i would like to see it almost like king of the hill in Halo 2. Where it lasts for 10 min, and at the end of the 10 min the team who had held the alter for the longest amount of time would be the winner... I just think that would be a lot of fun. The hero could respawn @ your base (the map would be pretty small) and could respawn every 15 sec or something like that. I think this would make whole process of holding the alter a lot different because its based on total time held, not who is holding when the timer runs out. Call me crazy but i think it would be worth a try at least if they gave it a shot in alpha to see how people liked it.

That sounds like a blast, either as a 6-way map or as a 2 or 3 team map.

I want to see more relic runs! Those are so fun since you can actually use actual map tactics instead of pure combat. Relic runs are also the closest to CTF in guild wars....

I think that the Jade Quarry ought to be retired and become a HA map. If not, an alliance battles map with three teams ought to be a huge blast to play. (No death penalty, instant respawning, multiple control points, the whole deal).
(Alliance battles stress mobility, while hall of heroes stresses area control, it would be great to have to master both in the tournament... and anything that lessens the oppressive lock that ranger spirits have on the tournament has to be good).
Lastly, what do people think about having more than one possible Hall of Heroes?

I thought about this yesterday, and I think it would be awesome. 2 extra areas (like UW and FoW) whose access is determined by which country has favor in 6v6 tourney.

New maps would be cool. I like the old ones too (with the notable exception of Scarred Earth.. *bleh*), but some new ones would be a welcome change.
Please no ganking maps, though... *shudders*

I get bored of playing the same map in halls, so I would like to see a new style halls or make the features variable, so that mabye one time there could be a res orb then a preist then mabye flag stands around the altar (the ones that interupt so they would be critical to control) this would really please me.
I hope we are Talking about real new maps. A-net is thinking something else about new maps (Just changing a bit map constuction Burial 6vs6->1vs1) or removing Maps and then putting them back (Burial removed, now its back and scared is removed. And the last clue is changing altar maps into death maches.
And the biggest Clue is HoH. :D Relict run, death match. The only real new thing is Flag stand cap (but the game mechanic existed in Heros Battle).
There are also no big skill Balnces. The only real big Skill ballance that changed also the playing in PVP was the Skillbalance while Spirit spam got a nerf. Alote of Skills got changed and the feeling to play PVP changed alote in GW. Even the new Proffesions dont have a impact like that skillbalance.
