View Full Version : Monk Smite Spike build that needs to be tried out

Allright everyone, I'm in a problem: I have this new build I want to try out, but my guild isn't very GvG related, so I need someone to try it out for me (it probly wont work, but hey).

Smite
Banish
Scourge Healing
Reversal of Fortune
Mend Condition
Resurrection Signet (and 1 with Resurrection Chant)

the Boon/Prot skills (see the pre-made PvP characters for skills)

Basically, it's a Monk spike. first, three Monks use scourge (one on both monks and one on the spike target). One of the six people uses SoJ (not Shield of Judgement, Signet of Judgement) which knocks the target down, and then all 6 use SS (Stonesoul Strike) and Spear of Light if he/she's still not dead. wait till everyone's SS recharges, and repeat (with another monk using SoJ), but use Smite instead of Spear. I'm open to suggestions, not insults. Please tell me how it works.

I fought a similar SoJ build yesterday. However, stonesoul strike is a touch attack to my knowledge or I"m thinking of something else. Anyway, I dunno how well that build could work, 6 touch attacks seems hard to pull, I think different way to go about it would to simply spike is Sig of Judgement itself.

The team I fought simply balled up inbetween spikes then created a heal ball through heal spring area healing circle, and seed I believe. Also Sig of Judgement does adjacent damage, so if you're lucky you get more then 1 kill per spike.

I'm not sure how well your build could work, a touch attack following a Kd seems hard to pull off, While that is about 80 damage per SS'er, a full SoJ spike seems more viable.

maybe one this would work in HA instead of gvg, something like a smiteball. also since your gunan be balled up, if one dies a monk should be running Mo/RT with livly was niomie. But personlay this isnt a gvg build. More of the HoH style. :sealed:

First off Ray of judgment = more damage meaning less spikers needed

go /r secondary: to increase your speed of spike (serpents quickness), and you want more defence (also SQ allows you to drop stonesoul and spear of light).

I wrote up something similar recently - and yeah here's the things you'd want:
1) Aegis chain
2) More hex removal
3) Dont mess with us (think aoe damage when you are all balled up)
4) Healing Seed
5) some sort of enchant removal (Prot spirit = GG)
6) Quickening Zephyr is nice too but you have to worry about emanagement more then.

If you're trying to play Heal Ball spike, you're going to want Mo/R's with Healing Spring, Heal Area. Spike is SoJ->Banish, or Spear of Light -> to Banish if they're attacking. You don't really need the other attack skills. Take Symbol of Wrath/Kirin's Wrath for Warriors.

You're probably going to want a Warder in there too.

Problem with this build is 1 CG ranger=gg. If you don't meet one of those though, it can hold pretty well.

This build will not work. SS needs to touch foe. How are you going to touch 1 target with 6 ppl :)? There are situations when even 2 W cant spike because of bodyblock, cripple, slowdown hexes. This spike can work only when 6 monks use Assasin as sec prof and use death charge for spike.
And... Monks have only 60 armor. This is gonna be a lot of dmg for them. They will not hold against pressure build.
I dont like 6 X/X spike builds because of split. This build does not have split. Balanced team will kill your GL much faster.
