I mean, will no one want to have me in their group? should i wait on starting a dervish or paragon?
I plan on starting both a paragon, dervish, and re-rolling my ranger in Nightfall, then i'll have 4 proph, 3 factions, and 3 nightfall toons total.. :)
It's going to hurt killing the Barrage Ranger but I'm trying to consolidate all my tons on 1 account since I bought enough slots now.
Besides you don't need to find as many people to play with if you know how to make a good hero :)
The only thing I'd keep in mind is that MANY people will be creating NF chars, so there will be a glut of dervishes and paragons looking for groups. If you tend to solo the game anyway (like me) this probably won't be a big deal. If you're more of a social player, just be aware that people tend to want balanced groups and may already have a paragon or dervish.
That being said, I'll be making one of each for sure :D
Haha, I think everyone in my guild will want one of each, i'll need to cross over my Monk and MM to support them in times of need, but with guildies and heroes now, I'm not too concerned in finding a plausibl egroup to play with.

Since there will be a glut of new characters in the new professions, things like superior runes and weapons will be similarly mispriced for some time. As well as the prices for armor materials.
It will make more sense economically to start with something else.

ok, looks like i will start both then...i've been wanting to make a ranger for a while, but have just held off cause they don't seem too in demand.

I'm planning to start a dervish, paragon, and ele in NF. That will give me all 10 professions, split up as 4 Tyrian, 3 Canthan, 3 Elonian.
Hm... I don't think I'll start either profession. Well, depends how their 15K armors look, but they seemed very conditional fighters in preview event. 3 secs to throw a spear for some damage? Dervish will likely have many farming builds.

Characters will also be coming over from tyria and Cantha, which should hopefully reduce the dervish/paragon glut.
(Of course, I won't be helping any, all five of my new characters will be dervishes and Paragons)
Let's see, me, 3 heroes (efficient henchmen), 4 henchmen. Looks like it doesn't matter what character I first want to play with in Nightfall. Anyways, I'm rushing my monk through Nightfall so I have all the new skills available for PvP as soon as possible (without having to reroll a PvP monk).
There's DEFINITELY gonna be a glut of Dervishes and Paragons when Nightfall is first released, and I'll be contributing to the problem with my Paragon.
Fortunately for me, I intend to do most of my playing with Heroes, henchies and the occasional guildie.

Me too!

I enjoyed the Factions' release glut. It was funny.

Luckly, NF has heros to do most of the work, So there will be no swarm of Devrishes waiting to pass the first mission.
No it is not a bad idea to start a new character in NF due to the fact which has been stated there will be lots of Dervish and Paragons and I will be adding to the mass of Dervish that will be created. I will do a Paragon ( depending on how the 15k or fow armor looks )

I'm so excited!
I can't wait! I'm going to make a dervish and not feel bad about being one of the many who do because it's going to be so fun! I'll make a paragon at some point too, but not till I'm done with my dervish!
I plan on making a Dervish and a Mesmer in Nightfall.
Now as for the magical 3rd character slot that I should be recieving shortly, I'm unsure as to whether or not I want to start a Paragon or go back to Factions and start an Assassin. I'm leaning towards the Paragon though.

So.. will we be getting that slot once it becomes live? Because I don't have it yet.. :(
Also..
I'm making a Dervish, along with my little sister.. we plan to power through some of NF starting at 12:01 tonight :) I look forward to seeing everyone else in Kamadan as well :).

I just went on to see whether it had appeared after reading your reply.

I'm making a Paragon, a Dervish, and a Ele or a Mesmer. Probably an Ele, seeing as I already have my necro for hexual abuse .
As for Monk...I just can't STAND monking..neither can my internet . I guess its fun in PvE, but come PvP, its way too intense for my internet to handle, and therefore, I can't handle it hahah.
-Edit
I've noticed a lot of people like the word "glut".

I don't think you'll have a problem. They're both solid professions, although Durvish is a little tricky to get down. The key is have fun, and be creative as to how you play the character:wink: .
