New Title-Related PVE Skills

cooool :D I think this is an awesome idea, and a logical extension for titles and their role in PVE :laugh: Note that these new "PVE-Only" titles and skills will not affect pvp in any way, so there's really nothing to complain about. Plus, it's not like you'll really have to farm to get them, as you'll be fighting Sunspear enemies and demons anyways... I like it.

Lightbringer and Sunspear Titles

The new Sunspear title can be earned by completing quests in Elona and fighting Sunspear enemies. By earning ranks in this title you can gain Hero skill points and the new PvE-only skill Sunspear Rebirth Signet. This skill increases in effectiveness as you gain more ranks in the Sunspear title.

The new Lightbringer title can be earned by hunting demons in Elona. For each rank of Lightbringer, you gain increased damage and damage reduction against demons. You can also earn the PvE-only skills Lightbringer’s Gaze and Lightbringer’s Focus, which can be used to fight demons. These skills also increase in effectiveness as you gain more ranks in this title.

The Sunspear Rebirth Signet is like res signet but I have no idea about the Lightbringer ones.

Rebirth signet works like a cross between rebirth and rez sig: you can only use it once and it recharges with a morale boost; AND it rezzes your ally to your location with 100% health and 10-50%{max 50 i think) energy.

Rez sig is officially dead.

The lightbringer skills (afaik) can not be attained atm. Me and a guildy both have LightL1 - the NPC who used to give the bounty now instead gives a "mini-quest" suggestion to go to a town to learn these skills. This town is not on either of our maps, and afaik we are fully explored. Since the campaign is either bugged or frozen, the lightbringer skills cannot be gotten at this time.

Note there is no max on the energy % that the sunspear rsig gives. Since I believe there are 10 levels of the title, it means that at max level you rezz someone with all energy.

I don't think I like this. Even though I don't feel it will actually be bad for anyone, I'm not feeling so great that there are skills introduced that are PvE specific. This game used to pride itself on having PvE and PvP balanced, right?

Again, it's not going to affect me negatively, so I won't worry about it.

I think the points system for advancing is a generally good idea...AND the ability to do nearly every quest with 3 heroes (and you get to build thier skillbars) reduces the need to party.

So i hope this rank orientated team building wont kick off.

theyre no benefit from sunspear title other than res... So why ppl would choose their teamate based on rank...

While there is not much benefit of high level sunspear...

High level lightbringer is a HUGE advantage. Even the standard nuke (5/1/15, "100" holy damage to one enemy per lightbringer rank) is a lot stronger than most other skills, and higher levels makes it really overpowering vs demons. The elite signet has potential to be great for warriors and casters alike at high levels - restoring 30 energy every 20 seconds.

That said, I managed to finish on lightbringer L2, but without using the L2 skill.

Do you automatically get these skills when you reach a rank or do your have to talk to some npc?

You have to talk to an NPC: One in the Chantry of Secrets (in Vabbi) for lightbringer, and one in the Sunspear Great Hall (in newbie island) for Sunspear.
