View Full Version : The Great Escape - Bugged?

While trying to do the Great Escape quest, for some reason I destroy the patrols surrounded the Fort... then... nothing. It says to kill the Captain (or whatever he is), but he's isnide a locked fort with no apparent way in.

Do you need a certain hero or something? My character is Tyrian btw.

NVM : At the Third Attempt of Retrying, Gates Opened Eventually.

yea i had the same problem. I spent like 4 hours thinking i had to go around only to find out that its imposible. (pist me off)

You have to redo the quest, it works eventually.

Make sure you only kill the groups you are told to kill. I spent a few hours on this before realising it. You have to restart if the doors won't open, though.

Kill the enemies you are asked to kill and you will see there are a few of those guys scattered around and there will be a lieutanant too. Kill it and proceed to finish the quest.

At the end of successful completion Koss will do warrior dance. It is hillarious!

You kill every kournan group in the area, i did it, didnt redo everything, just ran around killing kournans.

Same thing happened for us. We couldn't get them to open... we accidently took a big agro, died... resed, ran back, and they were open.

It worked for someone else -- so maybe you do need to kill and come back to the area... when you walk away, they open up.

I think you need that monk hero in your party thats starts with a D. I did the quest with him and it worked, but before it didn't. xD i'm not 100% sure though...

I did it without Dunkoro, just had to kill all the roaming Kourucans (or whatever they are called, brain fails me lol). Wish I was more help.

This may be just superstition, but I did the quest two times.. .And the first time I believe we failed because we werne't careful and alerted the bad guy to our presence, before killing the last group we're meant to.


Second time around, we killed ONLY the quest groups, kept the minions/henchies from going anywhere near the gates, and they opened fine.


One of the things that's said in the quest description is that you should use discretion... So I think it really is necessary. Don't go near the fort before you kill the groups that you're meant to, and try to keep it quiet. So to speak. ;)
