Unlike the pop-culture reference thread (http://forums.gwonline.net/showthread.php?t=426251), this is for those of you who spot any humourous references (like the tamer in the Plains of Jarin, or the Preserved Red Iris Flower) to previous GW games in Nightfall, or even better, if you find any hidden messages or features that ANet put in the game to see if anyone would find them, for example, the mini-wurm you get if you bring your pet to a Junundu or the thinly-veiled conversation about game mechanics in Resplendent Makuun. I'll start with this one, if you have Zhed in your party while doing the Pogahn Passage mission:

Zhed Shadowhoof: You're all mad! You may be able to dress up as Kournans, two-legs. But what am I supposed to be, your mascot?
Santax Hollybern: Margrid, hand me those manacles there, will you? Okay, now I'm going to put these on you...
Zhed Shadowhoof: Grrrrr...ROOOAAAR!
Santax Hollybern: Okay.... Margrid...you put these on him.
Margrid the Sly: Don't worry, Zhed. I think I know what Santax Hollybern has in mind.

Well, if you have the black moa as pet, and go to the tamer in plains of jarin, the NPC runs away screaming ''Help! its the black moa!''

I'm not sure any of the things you guys posted are real easter eggs tbh.

I think an Easter egg is more something like

"Enadiz the hardheaded" who uses headbutt

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_egg_(media)

A virtual Easter egg is a hidden message or feature in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program, or video game. The term draws a parallel with the custom of the Easter egg hunt observed in many western nations.

Looks like Zingeri (http://forums.gwonline.net/member.php?userid=184694) has found one, here (spoilers) (http://forums.gwonline.net/showthread.php?t=431404).

I'm pretty sure that the tamer doesn't run away actually. I brought my tank and all his heroes who all had a black moa to there just for screenshot purposes and I don't remmeber him running off...

I still think that an easter egg has to be related to something that happens outside of the game, otherwise its just an in game joke. :p

I was doing the Banana Scyth quest when Koss said something like.

"I've had it with these mother drakes on this mother plane." - Or osmething along those lines. I just know the quest title was, "Drakes On A Plane"

The quest takes you through this planes areas where you're fighting waves of drakes in order to meet some rich fiesty prince. I dunno, it was random that I caught by accident. Figured it was only a matter of time where someone would put that egg in a game. xD

In the Forum Highlands explorable area, there's a Dusty Urn in an obscure corner. Go ahead... Try to pick it up... I dare you!

Important Note:
Do NOT try this if you're still chasing a Survivor title.

Your example I believe belongs in the Pop-Culture Reference.

Star Wars anyone??

The Great Zehtuka, walking around taking credit for everything you do...reference to Mr Hercule Satan from DBZ?
Throw the letters around a bit: Sehtuca (and leftover: l e a r n) ?

I suppose so, that mish does have a few Star Wars references in it ("These are not the guards you are looking for"), but I guess it'd also fall under the category of easter eggs because it's a "secret" and only a certain chain of actions can bring it about.

I read your OP and the first thing I thought was 'Star Wars'. Your statement that it only happens if certain things are accomplished (i.e. Bringing Zhed with you) is quite true.

Either way, Good find

Actually, that's part of a quest. It's near the end of a long quest chain that starts in Vehjin Mines and leads to the Garden of Seborhin.

If you are doing the Tihark Orchard Mission - go talk to one of the NPC musicians and he says something like: 'If I hear another request for FreeMoaBird, I am going to puke!!!' TOO FUNNY!!!

Now I need to follow that chain... Starts with the Data Mining quest, does it?

In the Tihark Orchard mission, if you are diong bonus and taking drinks, if you take The Great Zehtuka's drink he will turn hostile and start shooting peasants and nobles. He killed a Vabbian child before I could stop him :S

Also in the data mining quest line there is a shorth quest where you have to talk to 3 people close to the head miner fella....

the observant (and older) among you will have spotted that their names are...

Lhari... Kurli.. and Moh

better known to those of us how remember black and white movies as....

Larry Curly and Mo... i.e. The Three Stooges.

I Laughed for hours when i spotted that

Baldur's Gate, a Dungeons and Dragons style RPG available for PC about 5 years ago had a hero-like character that shouted "Go for the eyes, Boo!" whenever he and his pet mouse attacked a incoming mob...

I believe the Paragon skill "Go for the eyes" is a easter egg tie-in to that DND RPG...

I think it was not mentioned before, but there is a quest in NF that takes you to the Cystal Desert, a Prophecies map (Arid Sea and beyond)

For that dusty urn, does it only do stuff if you have the quest for it? Because I tried picking it up the other day and nothing happened.

HEHE, keep trying to pick it up :) Below is a series of screens that show what happens - at least without the quest active. Read the text at the bottom.
