I will like to start a vanquishing thread to serve those who are working toward this title. I will keep track of what areas we have vanquished and try to post the day before for people to plan. However, it is hard to stick to the schedule because usually I vanquish 2-3 zones per night, but some nights I got distracted and behind schedule. So I will just let you know what is the next area and the time I plan to start. We can vanquish more after it but not neccessary. If for some reason, I already did it before the schedule time, we will still set up to vanquish a zone that we both need. We will get something done.

*Tentative Schedule:

June 7 Thursday, 7:00 pm CST Xanquang Skyway.

All interested give me a howler and we will meet in guild hall.

How long does it take to vanquish, typically?

Very long. Depends on foes in one area, it can take from 1 1/2 hours to 3 hours depends on your setup. Vanquishing is only for the dedicated and serious title hunters.

Thanks to Oblivious Waffle Riunne Annuivasa, we vanquishedn Xanquang Skyway last night in about 1 1/2 hours. We started it a little rough (well, now you know what to expect in hard mode :) but we pull our act together and mission accomplished.

Will move on to Naphui next.

Vanquishing and mapping are just really grindy to me. I'm the kind of person that is very goal oriented. I hate killing mobs and mapping. I just want to go get my item, and get my reward haha.

Not grinding at all if you set your mind to it. You will get it before you know it. You will never get it if you don't even try and intimidated by the thought of actually doing it though. My two cents.

Mapping took some time, but it was fun. I wish I done it after vanquisher title comes out so I can kill two birds in one stone, vanquishing and mapping at the same time. I got legendary way before hard mode comes out...so now I have to painfully to kill them all again :angry:

I too find this title a bit boring but i suppose if its done in groups its a bit more fun. Once u start on elona i dont mind helping as i plan to gather all the elonian titles.

Finally done with Cantha last nite Lungshen. 5/54 in Tyria atm. I am of the opinion that Tyria is not Hard mode ready. Cantha was just too easy for me. Elona was ok. Tyria is quite annoying. In Tyria, they have small groups with lots of monks. And they don't kite. they keep on running <lol>.

So far as grinding is concerned, I am of the opinion that anything seems to be a grind if you don't particularly enjoy doing it. I stopped visiting HA after 2200 fame (needed a round figure lol) as I found doing exactly the same thing again and again pretty boring. And the titles you get out of that place proved to be quite worthless. I can at least try variety of builds while vanquishing. Then again, there are numerous people who enjoy HA is LFG as I am typing this response. So, anything you do will need certain amount of dedication, PvP or PvE.

Word. Vela. Consider this thread close. Got the vanquisher of canthan now.

I am currently 8/54 in Tyria. Tyria really worn me out quick, just like you said, lots of small groups of monks and the map is huge. Worst...very few rez shrine and they are normally at the portal, so if you die, you have to run across the whole map to get to the group you are trying to kill. Taking even more time to h/h.

Canthan is easy, yes, because there are often large mob that you can ball them up around the corner and nuke them to death in seconds. Vanquished all Cantha in just a little more than a week. (and I only play in the evenings)

Elona is not too bad except few zones with fire djins are annoying. I am just taking my time to work Tyria vanquisher very slowly at the moment.

I certainly enjoy vanquishing. Now with the update that you get alliance factions by killing foes...more reasons to grind I guess, lol.
