Hey guys.
I thought it may be a good idea to open a BaR Question and answer thread where members, be they new or old(er), can ask questions that have something to do with BaR, whether that be about the guild itself, recent guild happenings, upcoming guild events (yes, i am aware that there is an anouncement thread, but maybe here enquieries can be asked and explained in further detail) or the guild as a whole.
I have also attatched a poll to show where in the world guild members are, for those who are curious to know how many players are in different countries/timezones.

At what time is everyone usually on? I'd love to meet everyone, but I have no idea who likes to be on at what time. Personally, I pop in-game usually between 11am and 4pm CST (GMT -06:00) in the summertime.
That, of course, will change when I am back at the university sometime in late August.

Central time is -600 GMT which is what I am btw. I am on when I am on, some days longer than others some none at all. Usually though after 8:00pm CST and rarely later than 11:00pm CST - have to get up early for work and all.

Daylight savings makes it -5 right now.

Ive got a question. From reading the announcement thread i can see that every now and then the guild will do something with other members of the guild (say, at weekends) like FoW or UW or whatever else.
I was wondering, are there people who organise events say for the american side, the european side, and whatever else, to give every member a chance to take part with the rest?
So say the American group does it at a certain time, but the europeans won't be able to because they'll probably be asleep, would there be another one organised for the europeans when most of em are around?

Members are allowed to organize their own events. So if you want to do something, feel free to either suggest it, or organize it yourself.

For a short time I ran a weekly PvE Event program but looking back I tried too hard being too accomodating for everybody. I'd not mind doing it again but I'd prefer to focus on those in American time zones and having someone else doing similar for European players. I think it'd be easier and perhaps attract more participation. And of course those events would be open to all players if they want to show up.

We have a few European officers, so that is certainly possible. We also have a European guild, [Bone], so maybe we could coodinate with them.

Ok so lets help out Feng with his time.
how do you use -xx? like i know its a 24 hour clock (i think..) that it is used on. So for instance I am -5 GMT. How do i use it? What does it mean? (lol I am never exposed to times other than CST cause I don't follow the world activities >.< and never really use GMT)

I believe GMT = greenwich mean time. Greenwich's some town in UK and for some reason I don't remember, ppl decided to start with greenwich when they drew up time zones.
I'm PST which is 2 hours west of CST (I believe). My time zone is 8 hours west of GMT hence i'm at -8 GMT. If I'm correct that CST is 2 hours east of me, that makes you -6 GMT.
Daylight saving time can complicate things even more ha.

GMT = THE time, +0
Western Europe = GMT+1
Eastern Europe = GMT+2
America
New York time (East Coast I think) = GMT +4
Pacific Time (West Coast I think) = GMT +7
Some countries have daylight savings time. That means you have to add another hour to your time in comparison to GMT during the summer period.
For example:
Currently, GMT = 10:59
Dutch time = Western Europe time = GMT +1 = 11:59
However the Dutch use DST (Daylight Savings time) so another hour is added to the actual GMT time.
Dutch time + DST = GMT +2 = 12:59 (<-- which as of this posting is correct).
A country which many get confused about is Britain. The Brits, Wales and Scots operate by British Time. British Time is slightly different from GMT +0, as they also use DST, meaning that during the summer, brits time = GMT+1, and during the winter Brits time = GMT.
It's a bit confusing at first, but you can always use international GMT converters found on the 'net till you get a hang of it.
Times I'm on (weekends and holidays):
GMT 10:00 -- 24:00. I'm not actually online for a lot of that time, but I log on during that time, play for an hour or two and then log off again or AFK. If there's a special really cool event, I don't mind starting a bit earlier, but I'll rarely keep going till later.
