BaR only weekly dungeons!

hey all ive decided to make guild outings in eotn campaign for a dungeon each week! we will continue doing these untill we get to the slasvers exile in which we will do all 4 dungeons in 1 night, there is no time limit to them obviously and this is for fun, onyx, money and title points :laugh:


they should be held every SATURDAY at 9.45 PM GMT and we can hopefully start at 10.00 PM GMT.

we will do them in this sequence :

1. Catacombs of Kathandrax
2. Rragars Menagerie
3. Cathedral of Flames
4. Ooze Pit
5. Darkrime Delves
6. Frostmaw's Burrows
7. Sepulchre of Dragrimmar
8. Raven's Point
9. Vloxen Excavations
10. Bogroot Downs
11. Bloodstone Caves
12. Shards of Orr
13. Oola's Lab
14. Arachni's Haunt
15. Slavers' Exile (ALL 4 DUNGEONS THAT ARE PART OF IT!)
16. Secret Lair of the Snowmen
17. Heart of the Shiverpeaks

One week break and repeat.

the no.16 dungeon was missed out because its a solo dungeon for brawling.

We can always do some basic planning now. Sure the bugs will have to be worked out once we get the team together, but for the most part, we can probably do a bit of planning now.

It means they start at midnight for me, but anyway, as far as planning goes, almost all the dungeons (Ive found anyway) can be done if you have two capable healers and one capable interruptor, combined with 5 capable damage dealers (in some cases, 1 tank, 4 DPSers).

In my case, I completed most Dungeons with me (an RC or SoD Monk) and Mhenlo (LoD monk), together with the interruption hench, a Rit w/ Splinter Weapon and a few random spirits and a Dervish 'tank'/DPSer. The other henchies were normally just AoE.

The groups boring but it gets you to the boss and finally beats him(/her) too.

My saturday is way too busy now :( I wanna join the new PvP team, the new dungeon team, but hate leaving the all Rit team behind (appointment at 20:00 GMT) :( Making choices sure is hard :p

well i'd say as long as we get 2 HUMAN healers then well be ok as ill be set as either defense or healer para :laugh: id say :

4/5 damage dealers including 2sf eles and a rit nuker ^^

an interrupter in PvE is usually easier to run on a ranger than a mesmer.

Also, personally I would go with 2 mind blast eles with rodgorts invocation and MS over sf-nukers.. but that may just be me.

I think that, rather than running a build, we may have to make do with who comes. I certainly wouldn't want to uninclude someone just because they didn't have the specific classes one person felt was necessary to beat something. I speak from experience when I say that it is the player, not the class, that determines the likelihood of completing any given challenge. Beyond the very bare bones basic things that are necessary to support a party, such as a monk or a N/Rt healer, we can make do with almost anything else in the other six spots.

This isn't about needing to form anything. It's about coming together to enjoy each others fellowship.

Nobody is saying you *have* to join a guild group for the snowmen and can't run it without a guild group or anything like that. Though I'd suggest doing the snowmen cave on the same day as, say, heart of the shiverpeaks (both aren't very long, snowmen only takes 10 minutes)

Also, the time (22:00 GMT) isn't really ideal for people in the CET timezone as it's midnight over here at that time :p although it does fit together nicely with the Rt meet which is at 20:00 (idk at what time we HA, but HA and Rt meet come first on my list)

Just wanted to say, /agree. I think you could make do with just 1 primary monk in most dungeons. For the rest, as long as the team has some additional healing or protection back up and a sufficient amount of damage most dungeons are easy enough.

May I make a suggestion? Move Slaver's until the last dungeon. I still haven't beat GWEN, and for others who also haven't, doing the Heart of the Shiverpeaks makes more sense because it is a required storyline dungeon. Honestly, thanks to my school schedule, I may actually not get to do HoS until we do it together here, which is fine, but if we do it next to last, I won't do it until after Slaver's.

Well, maybe you can coordinate with someone else to take over if you can't make it. Back when Barinthus was running a PvE event, he would PM me if he couldn't make it, and I'd take over. Unfortunately, my schedule is such now that I couldn't do that again, but there are plenty of great people in the guild who I'm sure could help out, maybe Hanzo or Kailden.

Yes, what I did was to ask around for willing volunteers. The idea was to have at least 3 members on "stand-by" so if I couldn't make it, the odds of having someone from the stand-by list could is good.

Ultimately I was hoping that people would start take the initative on their own. For instance - "Hey we supposed to have this event at this time... the guy isn't here, something must have happened IRL. Ok let's go anyway, who wants to go?" as oppose to "Oh well he's not here, forget it."

I think the biggest problem this week was that there just wasn't enough players online. Hanzo couldn't make it, Quintus couldn't make it, Soone couldn't either. We were 5 or 6 players online at the time IIRC.

P.S. The Shards of Orr dungeon I did w/ a couple of us was real fun... even if we did die..over and over. The undead couldn't keep us down, but bedtime could :'(

You don't need a full party to do this Soone. I'd have loved to come but when we had five people you were still dragging your feet to get going, and I had to leave. I apologize for that, but in the future, it should just be whomever comes goes.

Yeah, I'm not into the whole dungeon thing, but it wouldn't be bad to somehow communicate to the other guilds in the alliance when this stuff goes on.
