Grawl Bombing: The Next Generation Since 25/11/2007!

This is old old old....but thought it would be some use for people wanting to collect them Apple Ciders and Pumpkin Pie. Or for old time sake. =]

Usage (If you need it)

1. Place Spirit using Beast Mastery Mask

2. Swap to Expertise mask and begin luring them all using Lightning Reflexes.

3. Now you have them all lured and on you in a corner. Use the Norn shout and VwK. Let VwK run its full 10 seconds.

4. Once VwK is about to end put up Whirling Defense. Use Vengeful Weapon & Mend Body & Soul to keep health up.

5. *B00M* Pick up loot.

Armour & Weapons
Any armour can be used. Sword/Axe & Shield for extra armour and health.

12 Restoration
10 (14) Expertise
8 (12) Beast Mastery

Vengeful Was Khanhei
Vengeful Weapon
Mend Body & Soul
"I Am Unstoppable!"
Dodge/Zohjun
Lightning Reflexes
Whirling Defense
Edge of Extinction

It's a lot easier with VwK than it ever was with Throw Dirt/Mark of Pain, and gets round the EoE nerf that pretty much killed the original Grawl Bombing.

Lovely build, I'd forgotten how much fun grawl bombing was (would be even better if it wern't for the loot nerf). Anyone who hasn't bombed grawl before really should.

I got lucky too, for a little over an hour's bombing, I got a Superior Vigor (actually, on the first run), a Black Dye, a Sentinals insignia and a few K and treats too :cool:

Ive never heard of this, but thought i'd give it a go, I've done about 5 runs and out of killing them all i have gotten 1 grwal necklace, and 1 grawl garb....

Was it normal mode? Waste of time these days unless it's for a certain collector item.

This is for normal mode, and yes, the loot nerf kicks into overdrive with this run. The Rate of Kill bug that is triggered by the EoE bomb guarantees that you will be lucky to get more than two loot items that are not excempt.

As Bing stated though, it's a reasonably good way to get holiday items, which are exempt from the loot nerf, and any gold items are also dropped as normal, usually a rune. I got exceptionally lucky with a Sup vigor and black dye. But I've also had radiants, sentinals, and an assortment of other dyes and keys.

Of course, it's also a pretty good way of farming XP, especially with a cheap scroll or rampagaers.

It seems a very nice build...are there any other places where it can be used where the rate of kill bug isnt triggered so badly?!

I like the idea of using VwK as a ranger for farming

If you're only farming holiday items, the rapture cave is much better since the whole run takes less than 60 seconds. You also get around the bug since you don't need even need to drop EoE.

Where is this cave? I just started playing again after a 1.5 year hiatus and I just got through GW:EN a few days ago. I've heard this raptor place is a pretty sweet place to make some quick gold.

Actually it's rubbish for loot (level 15s), it's just outside Rata Sum to the east (head south).

Notice Rift's skillbar though, more suited to these melee mobs, ancestor's rage would work well here.

Using ancestor's rage, you can do the vermin pretty easily. And I was trying the Reed Stalkers HM outside ToA last night, fairly straightforward with a few complimentary skills (block and heal), not much in the way of drops but I got a lockpick and a req 12 max gold brute sword for half an hour.

If you want to do vermin in HM I found the best way was Dolyak Sig (to reduce damage and prevent knockdowns) and VwK (to deal damage without triggering their heal skill).
