And overall acting in the game. Granted I've watched every cinematic in the game and a lot of times I /facepalm myself seeing bad voice overs and poor acting. It's like ANet used machinima badly to make their cinematics. Can we have GOOD camera shots, GOOD acting / animation, and GOOD voice acting? Please?

While I don't think that GW's cinematics are awful, I was most impressed by the cinematics that went with the BMP. I expect GW2 to have cinematics of at least that quality (if there are any), but I wouldn't terribly mind cinematics like the old ones.
just save that work for GW2....
I'd rather have SOME voice than say Super Smash Bros Brawl which has NO voice acting and everyone is meme'ing it... just looks weird...
it works... but it would be totally better with voices...
Actually, the Nightfall and EotN cinematics look ok. EotN has great voice acting, especially.
The cinematics in Prophecies and Factions make me cringe  But overall, across the games, I see improvement in that.
So we can expect GW2 cinematics to look decent. Same thing with voice acting, too.

It's obvious the Guild Wars team has learned a lot about cinematics in the last few years, as with every release that aspect of the game has improved markedly. I've always enjoyed the in-engine cutscenes of Guild Wars, which still are pretty unique for an MMO to have.

I actually loved the "meme'ing" in SSBB. Mostly because they had pre-rendered scenes that were well-animated. Now in GW, using in-game emotes and stuff like that, of course it's going to be limited. But that doesn't mean they couldn't throw specific animations in for specific scenes. Make a skeleton that works for that scene and throw up a model on top of it. That's how fighting games like Virtua Fighter make different special case throw animations.
I do agree though that from Factions to NF and to Gwen the acting has gone considerably up, but it still seems like they're reading lines instead of acting.
Oh, I think the thing that contributes most to bad acting / VO is the fact that the script is pretty terrible from time to time.
"Why do we, as assassins use two daggers? Because we have two hands!" -Anton
Funny but /facepalm quality.
Another gripe I have is that it just seemed too thrown together, like the could have used more particles in a certain section where the wall explodes or something. Oh well I'll just hope for the best.
"...four leg..."
The voice actor did very well as Zhed - a lot better than Prince Rurik, IMO.

Voice acting in GW never dissappointed me ; p, mainly coz of steven blum. did u know this voice actor for male characters (proph/factions) also voiced;
# Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII as Vincent Valentine
# Final Fantasy XII as Ba'Gamnan
# God of War as Ares
# Gears of War as Marcus Fenix (Pre-release version only)
# Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops as Gene
# Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga as Gale
# Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex as The Laughing Man
# Cowboy Bebop as Spike Spiegel
# Naruto as Zabuza Momochi, Orochimaru
# Samurai Champloo as Mugen

On topic, certain voices are horrible (not mentioning any names, but looking in the general direction of Master Togo), but overall the voice acting is quite good I think.
@Lamuness: They do make special emotes for certain scenes, like Vekk pouring Gadd's ashes, several of Shiro's scenes in Factions, etc.
i love EotN's cine.. :P
NF is pretty good too..
Heros truly have their own personality shown... i think that's the important part.

They should have more of that.
I'm a big fan of cutscenes and I hate the Half-Life 2 approach to cinematics. There's no direction, dynamic camera angles and you can be just plain lazy with your storyboarding.
I do agree though some of the VO is good, though I think with a better script and some better animations, it would look 500x better.
I never noticed the quality of voice overs in the Cut Scenes after Factions just for the fact that it irritates me that the full group no longer is shown after Factions.
I miss seeing the entire group instead of just the leader. To me it seems like that part of it makes it almost a single player game with other players coming along.
I wish they would put the entire group back in the cut scene (and it seems silly when there are characters that pop up in the Cut Scene that you don't even have with you like in EoTN when Gwen or Ogden pops up and they are not even in your group but they look like they are. Kinda kills the story line. Would seem like they could make one of your heroes say it or one of your party members say what needs said rather than bringing someone in that isn't even there.

Mein Gott! No wonder they sounded similar!
P.S, get the guy who voiced Kratos in God of War, BEST.DAMN.VOICE.ACTOR.EVER!
It is not the voice acting that was bad, but the script. No matter how good the voice actor is, when they have rubbish lines to read it will always come out rubbish.
Get good writers first, then worry about voice acting.

If they did, I'd expect every second line would be him yelling "AREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!" or "ZEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUS!"

Pinky and the mutha-blank Brain. If you don't get this reference I have no idea what to do with you.
That is all.(also voice acting is fine, stop worrying about dumb stuff)

I would call it minor instead of dumb. It isn't dumb if it helps with the overall immersion of the game. You'd be surprised at how many people refuse to play a game after they hear bad dubs, bad scripts, or any other small things that are just plain nit-picky. Plus it would help the game get a better review, so it would potentially catch those people who believe everything IGN says.
That being said, I agree that the script is horrendous. We have a writer on our game too and he just makes bad lines after bad lines and eventually he got fired. I hope ANet did/does the same thing too.

GW cinematics are ok I guess. Prophecies and facions are a bit stiff and boring to watch. Nightfall was good compared to the previous chapters.
I think the quests should become more appealing in GW2. I hardly even read the quest story's. It's just to boring to read all those lines while all you do is run from A to B. Voice over the quest giver should improve it a bit I think.

Voice overs would make the game ridiculously large, if they want to implement even a fraction of the number of quests that are in GW1.
This is what I meant by fixing voice acting / script / cinematography in GW2 so I would want to watch it. At least for the first time :D

I think every character in GW2 should have Danika's voice. Hell, go back to GW1 and change everyone in every chapter's voice to that as well. If Anet doesn't do this, I don't see any point in playing.

I surely do, i've watched the dubed version of that so many times i can't believe i didn't recognize that.
