And while we're at it, make the arrows stick in the bodies of our targets.

Quiver on back fires slow.
Quiver on belt fires a lot faster.

Was he? I'm in favour of the idea. I remember going from D2 to fiddling around in Neverwinter Nights and very much enjoying actually seeing my arrows stuck in various parts of mine enemies. Or thinking I'd done very well in some battle against a number of dread fiends (they were dead, I wasn't) and then seeing my own character with three or four spear sized arrows through him. Not gory, just funny.

No I wasn't. It's pretty cool to see the arrows stick in various body parts of your foes. I'd love to turn my enemies into a porcupine after a volley of arrows.

It is done all over the place now, so it should not be a problem to do.
/signed for all three suggestions

Maybe when you do kindle arrows or burning arrows the arrow lights up as they are in the air.

Kindle Arrows does already...
Likewise, Poisoned arrows leave a green trail behind.
would be cool if when the arrows are pulled out they cause bleeding, or if somehow you could target body parts and if the arrow hits the persons legs they become crippled.
But I'm probabily taking it too far
And while we're at it, make the arrows stick in the bodies of our targets.
Well that with the crippling sounds nice! But the targeting sounds kinda hard to accomplish, but it's a good thought.
Good suggestions.
But please do not use limited ammo. Or if they will be in, give us a horadric cube.
Also, may we have crossbows ?

Anyone know if there will be gun powder yet? I would guess that in 250 years something similar would have been invented... by the Canthan people of course :D. I'm still mixed sided on gun powder...
Anyways, it would be nice to have strings and quiver, and the preparation for rangers wouldn't look so... empty now. Maybe the ranger can take out a few arrows, light them on fire, then fire one by one while holding the rest in his hand.

Ah yes, I remember multiplayer sessions of Turok 2 turning people into human pin cushions.
Good times.
On a related note about arrows: I remember watching a show on the History Channel (I believe it was called Ancient Weapons) where they showed an ancient Chinese weapon that was pretty much a rocket launcher of sorts. It was a octagon shaped tube that had about a dozen arrows inside, with a rocket attached to each arrow. When the fuse were ignited the arrows would fly from the tube and impale it's victims and set them of fire. They may have even exploded if I remember correctly.
Just thought I'd share that.

Interesting video. This will most definitely be the Cathan's invention. I can imagine a Ranger wheeling one of those red wagons onto the battlefield... spamming barrage... :D

I knew someone would get the reference.

incredible video. kinda takes you back and shows we really havent come along technology-wise since the "ancients" :)
Instead of Bow strings i would like to see the Quiver be changeable to produce the prefix effect examples "Quiver of Icy arrows" "Quiver of Poisonous arrows" etc. etc. for two fold reasons one being it is logical secondly allows a ranger to keep only one Bow but change Quivers lastly it is another Gold sync
i do like to see some improvements in flying arrows, like having a trail of ice with ice arrows.
the quiver should be in the style of the bow, so let's say you have a storm bow, the quiver has lightning coming from it with arrows that have a faster shooting speed.(and a lightning strike effect while you're at it:P )

What if rangers had an icy bow with fiery quiver and used poisonous arrow skill?
What if rangers had an icy bow with fiery quiver and used poisonous arrow skill?
Then your graphics card would go BOOM.
But to not be a spammer:
I would  bowstrings and quivers. And the arrows being stuck in the critters would be pretty awesome too.
Bowsting would not apply a Prefix what is currently applied by the string is moved to the Quiver of *** arrows
