I am going to buy a new computer soon and i am wonder if guild wars will be taking advantage of the quad core processors or should i save $150 and go with the dual cores. Mabe i am asking this question a bit to early but if anyone knows or has a good idea post it

Well, they've specifically said that GW2 won't require high-end hardware, but as for whether you'll be able to squeeze better performance out of a quad core processor vs a dual core, I doubt anyone could tell you right now. Sounds like it'd be a safe bet to just drop the $150 and get the better system; hopefully it'll pay of in the long run, and it never hurts to have a better comp.

If we take Assassin's Creed as an example for a future GW2 engine, you might need the QuadCore.

We don't know if ANet said their game won't require high performance systems in comparison with what high-req games are now on the market or with what will be when they will release GW2.

By common sense speculation, i think QuadCore will be mid-standards in 2 years.

I personally would stick with a DualCore and upgrade as, and when the situation requires it. :smiley:

dual core is more then enough, i think it's more the GPU you need to watch rather then the CPU.
