Van der snoot posted a reply to a thread in the community discussion that got me thinking. The areas in GW are gorgeous and the monsters look great but they don't feel "alive." You have collectors and merchant just standing out in the wilderness with all these hostile monsters nearby. There should at least be some dialogue or something but I realize that to create dialogue for every NPC in game would back log some poor writer until 2020. I think ANet should allow players to submit short dialogues for sets of NPCs in game. You wouldn't be payed, it's strictly volunteer work (of course it could open doors for someone) and you might even be under an NDA. But you'd have added content, albeit fluff, to a game you love. I think it'd be cool to walk up on two merchants and rune trader trying to plan on how to sneak out of an area fill with minotaurs and oh yea, they'll make a quick buck off you too. There's alot of different uses for it and I think it'll really draw people into the game.

thatd be pretty sweet. some ppl have some classic stuff to say. itd be cool to share and even get it put in the game. obviously itd be a lot of work to sniff through the tons of stuff theyd get. BUT! restrictions can be done. lets say, so many words for user submitted stuff, of course the laguage filter which would be MUCH broader for phrases/variations. being as such no symbols or punctuation spelling, one punctuation mark after sentenced allowed only so that ppl dont draw out penises, faces, etc etc. has to be relative to the game area always. so like a key word, i.e., charr are npcs must talk about charr, or have the word charr in there in there, something along those lines. like you said, all fluff so they can be as strict as need be to keep spam out and have it filtered out before it sees someones eyes to approve it.

i think i made sense in that? lol.

I think it's relatively easy to setup an email account and have people email "scripts" that are 2000 (whatever number they like) words or less. Filter out common swear words and make sure there are certain number of periods. It would take a bit of work, maybe 4 to 8 hours a week to implement.

I Think thats a really cool idea and i agree to the fullest... another idea is to have these random merchants maybe with an escort or something like real ones did in the middle ages... back then you didn't travel alone unless you were a bandit or thief. i look forward to possibly seeing something like this in GW 2.
