With the recent talk of Guild Wars II and its playable races, there was a debate about whether these races should have an impact on how the game is played.

On the one side of the debate are those who believe that any racial differences should be purely cosmetic. On the other side you have those that believe that races should be fundamentally different from one another.

What follows is part one of my own thoughts on the whole affair, from both sides of the debate....
