And i'm not talking about candy.
I'm talking about what happened today in GW. (Where else, this IS a GW blog, no?)
Diessa challises. Try to repeat it 20 times in a row while closing your eyes and thinking about the fact that only one drops in a run, IF you are lucky.
That's how annoying I felt before I went into CoF with my ritu.
But I soon sobered up. It went well, very well.
Cause you see, in the second level I got a drop.
It got me thinking: people on the wiki talk page complain about the rate of drops. I agree, they rarely drop.
I thought, if I could farm them (like with a 600HP monk/smiter) that I could go quicker.

I bought a challice from another monk. And I asked him/her, if the two he/she was selling were from a single run. The answer: yes.
So, I wonder why people farm them? I got one drop with a full H/h cleaning out the place, and the monk, who farmed, got two.
Now, was I lucky? Who knows, only time will tell.
Maybe the monk has two or three every run. But if only one drops for me every run, i'm a happy camper, so isn't that the way it was supposed to be?
In any case, i'll keep you updated.
Today I went to the store, to get myself Windows 7 and some other stuff. (Including some frozen gems/nic-nacs.)
It works like a charm, i'm so happy that I can work fast again, without the constant rattling of my hardrive. And I LOVE the little icons on the startbar.
Oh, and I vanquished Wajjun Bazaar this evening. Phew, with only one healer. Still, I made it.
And I got a jadeite shard AND a greenie. A tattered fan.
Now to install Fraps again and my movie maker program, so I can continue on my mesmer movie.

Are the chalaces considered rare items, or white items? Have you seen them drop more in HM or NM?

Chalices are supposed to be collectables, but they drop quite rarely.

Compare them to ecto's or shards.
They drop at the same rate: sometimes one, if you are lucky two on a run. But alot of times nothing either. And yes, both in NM and HM. Why are they so sought after? The dreaded blindfold, of who'm I've only seen monks were them the most. More information HERE and HERE. And most of the stuff on the last link is people who give up way to easily... My second one in two days:  Even if only one drops at every run, that's 50 runs. One run every day is about a small hour. 50 days. A month and a half. And that's excluding buying them. (ranging from 1.5K tot 2K) So yeah, I should have it in a month or so. Patience is a virtue. And so is persistance. :) |

I was going to do that, if not for the fact that I never have much cash in my pockets or on the bank.
So, I guess I'll save the extra's and keep buying them in little amounts. That way I have something to look forward to! ;) |
