Structured Player vs. Player

Wait, I thought centaur wasn't a playable race!?!

Wait, I thought centaur wasn't a playable race!?!

Structured PvP is ArenaNet’s competitive PvP. Let’s be honest for a moment, I assume that World vs. World will be a lot of fun, but it’s hardly the place you would go to see which of two teams actually have the best skills. Structured PvP is ArenaNet’s best chance at an e-sport.

Now before I discuss this in details, I have to admit a few things. I am not the most credible person to talk about PvP and e-sports. However, I will stick to describing my experience, and try to give you information you can use to make your own mind.

Playing Healer in a Healer-Less Game

Posted 28/03/12 by

You all heard ArenaNet saying that they nuked the trinity. No more tanking, no more dedicated healer… I guess they needed to keep the nuker so they could nuke the trinity. Well, what of those who like me loved to play healer? So I made as best as I could a dedicated healer, and gave that a try.

The Build

I picked Engineer as my Charr profession. And yes, I made my Charr black-and-white striped if you must know. I choose the Engineer because that gave her access to many healing skills.

Mike O’Brien on Microtransactions

Posted 28/03/12 by

With so much coverage going on here at GWO following the Beta weekend, this almost slipped through the net. Mike O’Brien has been talking to PCGamers about the microtransacton model in Guild Wars 2 following last week’s announcement. The article/interview can be checked out on PCGamer. Here’s a quick snip:

“You know it’s not going to last”, O’Brien continues. “You see a lot of success in MMOs that don’t have monthly fees, however they monetise. Free-to-play or premium microtransactions, whatever. Now everybody’s catching onto it, and there’s going to be a lot more diversity in MMO business models. And as a gamer I’ve got to say – thank god.”

How to Gether, How to Craft?

Posted 28/03/12 by

Yes, the typo in the headline is intentional. Playing with the GWO team this weekend made one thing obvious: You do not have enough storage space to pick up everything you can gather, harvest and that drops from foes. It is just too much for the limited space you have, even if you take a profession that can make bags, like the tailor I have chosen.

How can you cope with that problem?

The bank account you have? So far I have not seen a way to upgrade the storage space, which is pretty limited, even more, when you want to keep the achievement books and have several characters on the account, which might want to store different things.
