The team have been busy this week on incgamers.com, it’s been pretty hectic thanks to embargoes lifting and also preparing for the week ahead’s content. So what did we get up to? Here’s your weekly recap.

Also, this week we are planning a Marvel Heroes beta key giveaway which will be open to PALs as part of our new priority access for site supporters. Hopefully we will have more details on that in a couple of days but keep your eye on the main incgamers.com site for updates on that.

Temple of the Silent Storm

Temple of the Silent Storm

I found out that sPvP wasn’t some minigame that pokes some fun at the latest WoW playable race in a juiced up sequel of the game Plants vs Zombies…

Instead, I got another monthly done in maybe 4-5 hours of play on my first real try playing sPvP, and I am close to getting it done again. Not too shabby for a sPvP noob.

Posted 23/03/13 by

Good afternoon PC game fans. Its time for a round-up of what’s some of the gaming goodness that’s been happening around the network for week ending 16-23 March.

IncGamers Podcast/Vidcast

In the week in which John Riccitiello has announced his resignation as CEO at EA, the question on everybody’s lips in the IncGamers Podcast is: how exactly do you pronounce his name? We’ve done our best to assess his reign at the head of EA; from the early days of getting Dead Space and Mirror’s Edge off the ground, to the anti-consumerist practices that now define the company.

Speaking of which – it’s SimCity! Yes, the debate and discussion that surrounds this game is rumbling ever onward. We’re in on it too.Elsewhere, Battlefield 4 has been teased with erotic rain imagery and Saints Row IV has shown off some naked car surfing in a recent trailer. How is this pair of 4′s likely to shape up?

GWOnline Events – January Update

Posted 28/12/12 by

Just a quick update this time around everyone. Although Christmas and Wintersday is wrapping up the holiday season is still in full swing for many of us and it is with that in mind that we have decided not to hold any events for January. To compensate for this however the events from December will have their deadline extended to Midnight on January 31st 2013 (UTC). This will not include the Monthly Events race however which will end this month as usual, it is also worth noting a monthly event race will not feature in January.
This means there is still heaps of time to get your entries in. For details on the events currently available and how to enter head on down to this post.

Enjoy your holidays and we will see you all next time!

GWOnline Events – December Update

Posted 29/11/12 by

Welcome back for December’s update on our now monthly round of contests and competitions, or as we like to call them; events. Firstly lets check over Novembers happenings:

Unfortunately we again had technical difficulties on our part involving the Hide and Seek event, we have therefore decided to postpone the event until server guesting is implemented. The staff really want this one to happen and as soon as we can begin hosting it we will let you know. We rolled out a new Screenshot Contest where we had you taking a screenshot of your player in action. As of writing there were only 2 entries (the contest awards the top 3 participants) but its still open! Get your entry in quick for consideration. We also continued our Monthly Achievement Race where we had you racing to be the first to finish your monthly achievements. At the time of writing we have had NO entries however, if you enter now you could win as the contest awards a prize to the first to enter rather than the first to finish.

Raye’s entry for Novembers Screenshot Contest

These contests are open until Midnight on Friday 30th November (UTC) so there is still time to get your entry in! See Novembers post for details on how to enter.

For December we are running three events, the Monthly Achievement Race and the Screenshot Contest will return and we are introducing a new ‘creative writing’ style event. Read on to find out more…

13 skills unlocked, so many to go!

Posted 25/11/12 by

13skills

After a few months of beta testing and three months after the release in August, the GWO Elementalist forum has “unlocked” thirteen skills of Guild Wars 2′s attunement swapping profession.

What are those “Skills of Interest”, you might ask?

On a regular basis, Gorani – the forum’s moderator – takes an in-depth look at a skill, its current use and stats, its history since the early betas and how well it does compared to other skills. Does is have synergies with traits, is it more useful in PvP or PvE? This and more, you can find on the “Skills of Interest” threads.
You are invited to leave a comment and join the discussion. Share your expertise with the community and perhaps learn something new, too.

Swap to the Elementalist forum now and check out the latest addition to the series:
Signet of Air.

GWOnline Events – November Update

Posted 05/11/12 by

Greetings all!

For those who missed the original post last month GWOnline has begun hosted a range of in-game events for all of you to participate in. In October we held the Monthly Achievement Race (which we had no entries for, remember you’ve got to be in to win!) and we also planned to host a version of Hide and Seek but were unable to due to technicalities on our end.

In terms of prizes we think that Large/Heavy Loot bags and Dungeon Tonics work well. This month we may be able to organise Candy Corn and rare Halloween crafting materials for prizes as well. If you have any suggestions on items that would work well as prizes please let us know.

So what is in store for November? Read on and find out…
