Diablo: IncGamers Celebrates 15 Years of Service
Comments Off
While this is not Guild Wars news as such, without the Diablo: IncGamers site GWOnline would not be here today. ArenaNet would also be one staff member less as Diablo: IncGamers is where Gaile started her journey in the industry. The 15th Anniversary article is walk down memory lane looking back at how the IncGamers sites started and it’s a great read if you want to know more about the people behind this site. There are also some great shots going back as far as 1997 when it all began. Read the article right here.

Interview with Angel Leigh McCoy
Comments Off

Angel Leigh McCoy
Angel Leigh McCoy is one of the writers and game designers at Arenanet currently working on GW2. She recently gave an interview at Nevermetpress about her work, and her writing. The interview covers her early career as a writer for table-top RPG but also includes a discussion about how she ended up at Arenanet as well as a discussion about the difference between writing for a table-top RPGs as opposed to writing for a computer game.
With respect to GW2, readers of this news site will find an interesting tid-bit: Apparently, planning for a GW2 open beta has recently started. But anyone gets too excited, it is important to emphasize that there is no set date mentioned. Head over to Nevermetpress and read the full interview!

Some network news for you, I have kicked open the doors on RPGReporter.com which is a new side project I am working on and covers RPG and MMO news from around the Intertubes. The site provides daily news as it happens and will hopefully be a good source if you are keeping your eyes on MMOs or RPGs in general. It’s not a ‘fansite’ or a review site, just so there’s no confusion
I am also looking for a few folk to come help out on the site so if you are an avid follower of RPGs and want to get involved then check out this page. Drop over and give the site some love!

Skill icons for community fansites – “work in progress”
Comments Off
I had the chance to relay a message to CR team member Stéphane and asked him about the possibility of adding “official skill icons” to the GW2wiki, because some of them are of low quality right now (e.g. taken from a digital camera screen shot at Gamescom etc.). This answer I can share with you:
I already tried to get the skill icons for the GW2 wikis (and other fansites) a little while ago, but it was not possible due to various reasons, one of them being that they’re not finished.
I’m perfectly aware of the difficulty for the community, but I’m still working on this and hopefully it’ll happen, but I don’t know when.
All the best,
Stéphane
IncGamers Hands-on Preview
John over on the main IncGamers.com site has today posted his hands-on preview based on play time in Germany last week. What’s interesting about this article is that John has gone hands-on with a few upcoming MMOs so he has a good taste of where Guild Wars 2 is currently positioned.
John is not a super hardcore MMO player and has dabbled with the original Guild Wars in the past and so it was really interesting to see what he made of the game when he went hands-on. The article is also accompanied by some exclusive new shots taken during John’s play session.
