The sticky threads:

  • The first sticky thread is marked with the exclamation mark icon () and tagged with the [News:] prefix is for all the news about the Elementalist profession I as your Mod, or you as a community member, can find. Please add a link to the source, too - whenever possible. Currently preview and beta news are reported there. On release (August 28th 2012), this thread will be renamed and continued (easy to bookmark & subscribe for your). Other [News:] threads cover certain steps in the pre-release process, like BWEs. Usually those are locked down some time after the event.
  • The "Introduction to the profession" thread () should be read, if you are new to the profession and you need some quick infos. It is the first [Guide:] tagged thread we created here. It will be updated from time to time, but will not go in depth on special topics. Seek other threads tagged with [Guide:] for additional information. You can search for this prefix to narrow down your search.

The other threads:

  • The pre-release media thread with early beta footage is, e.g. tagged with the prefix [Media:]. Other media threads exist as well, like one created for skill icons. We also upload some ongoing YouTube videos to GWOnlineTV here on the site, which allows you to search for videos tagged as "Elementalist". GWOnline.net exclusive videos are on our Youtube Channel.
  • The Dust Devil is a designated thread to report broken links or outdated content in the [Basics:] and [Guide:] threads. Please use it or send a PM to the forum Moderator and describe the problem and add links to it, or its solution.


Please join existing discussions before opening new threads with the same or a very similar topic. Use icons with thread headlines scarcely, because we use some as a way to organize content on this forum. Please leave the prefixes to the moderators & ask to tag a thread with a prefix. Don't get upset, if a Mod adds/removes/alters those things or slightly changes your headlines. The more structured threads are, the more enjoyable they are to you as a reader.

There is an ongoing series of threads here, called "Skills of Interest". I will feature an in-depth look at a single skill every week (planned - but expect a "free week" once in a while due to RL & other in-game events that have higher priority). The release day of a new thread is Sunday. The Karma icon () marks skills that have their own "Skills of Interest" thread in the "Skills & Combos" [Basics:] thread. Skills will be picked alternatively from weapon skills & slot skills.

The GW2 Elementalist has its own social group here on the GWOnline.net forums. To be able to see the social group and get involved there, you have to be a registered member of the site and join the social group "Elemental Attunement". See the "Gatherings, contact & social groups" thread for details to join and other community activity. The social group provides a place to be, away from the spotlight. It is an opportunity to post things in a more private environment.

And finally, please take part in the "quality offensive". The forums have the feature to rate a thread ("Rate this thread" in the same area where you can enter your search) from "Excellent" to "Terrible". Why do you ask? Threads with a bad rating might be outdated and need a rework or close down. Excellent threads might be the ones you are looking for and as you might not know, you can search for those kind of threads as well, if we get the mechanics right.
