View Full Version : 1=2, 1=-1, 2=-1....
1=2
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
a=b
aČ=ab (multiply by a)
aČ + aČ - 2ab = ab + aČ - 2ab (add aČ - 2ab)
2(aČ - ab) = aČ - ab (factor the left)
2 = 1

problem #1
1=2
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
a=b
aČ=ab (multiply by a)
aČ + aČ - 2ab = ab + aČ - 2ab (add aČ - 2ab)
2(aČ - ab) = aČ - ab (factor the left)
2 = 1
since aČ=ab
then aČ - ab =0
you can't factor this since you can't divde by 0
Sorry I couldn't follow the second problem
*Red handed* You got me. A lot of people fall for that one ;). I'm just gonna delete the second proof because I can't make the fractions look legible on this format.
