My wife (who I don't want to play Guild Wars because we can only afford one computer, i.e. she plays = I don't) wants a PS2 game. She wants a good shooter that has a quick learning curve, easy to moderate difficulty and a decent storyline. I know that this may be alot to ask but .... Anyone got an idea?

I like Raven Shield. It's kind of old, but still a goodie.

Halo2 ;) Uh... PS2... Im not too sure on the shooters for PS2, but I can ask my friend, who works in a video game store, to list a few of them off and tell me if they are good or not. It may take a while to get him to list em though ;)

I dont know if it is exaclty classified as a shooter, but my girlfriend plays the Silent Hill games, number 3 especially I think. She loves them for their story mode, as for me I never recovered from the camera angles and controls in the Resident Evil games and still have a fear of all zombie related games. Or you can allways go Bond. The Bond games are usually pretty decent (excluding the demon spawned Tommorrow Never Dies). They have that new Goldeneye game out.

In fact, not to highjack your thread Mortaj, but has anyone played the Goldeneye: Rouge Agent game? I'm kinda interested in it, as the original is a classic.

Mortaj...I did some thinking and surfing. A game that you might be interested in looking at is XIII. It's been out since somewhere towards the beginning of this year, so it will be cheaper . But I was thinking, and it actually meets the requirments you stated. I have played it myself, and its pretty good. The cell shading is something a lot of first person shooters dont utilize, and it makes for an interesting game. The storyling is shown in a comic book like style, I didnt think I would like that, but it was a good relief from cutscenes that last 30 minutes (Metal Geaaaar...do u hear me?) The voice overs are pretty good actually, and the story mode is as well. It centers around you not knowing who you are, and discovering it. Its not too linear, with a few different paths you can take, stealth, guns blazing, etc.

Its the only game I can think of that I have played and can recommend. Once you figure out exaclty how to handle situations, it can be easy, but in certain parts your gonna run into trouble. The boss battles can be quite a handful...especially the last one. It's not far out there, based on sci-fi or anything. Pretty good story mode, decent cutscenes, I didnt have any control problems with it. Just something you might check out.

What about Killzone? It is supposed to be ps2's answer to halo 2.

Ive heard its story mode is pretty weak, and that the world is pretty bland. Ofcourse its set in a desolate future so this is somewhat justified. I'm not sure Killzone is living up to its hype. I havent played it yet though, so I'll get back to ya on it. Not that I'm hearing its a bad game, I'm just hearing its not meeting its hype.

Grand theft auto: San andreas. Your Wife would be addicted to this game, and as long she sits in front of the television, You can play as much GW as you want :thanks: :winner:
