Ok guys, I'm just curious what the status of our website is. I realize it takes some work, so how is the construction going? My knowledge of constructing a site is practically non-existant, but if there is any remedial tasks that need to be done, or anything I could help with I'd be more than willing.

I also have another question. Once we do get our site up and rolling, are we going to be having a forum on it?

Thanks for your time, and effort.

i think the forum will remain here, everyone was kind enough to give us a place to start up the guild.

the website is in construction, it may be put on hold because we're all quite busy and we wanted to focus more on the guild population more than the website. what good is a website if the guild is still in its infant stage, there is still a lot of things that needs to be discussed and we're still in the recruit process.

once we are a steady guild, then we can focus on the secondary issues such as the website. xircon is fully capable of making the website, however, i believe he requires suggestions/ideas and such for its design.

from that, are guilds unlimited as far as members go? Is there a max we want if not? Somehow I know if we make it limitless many people arent going to play as hardcore as others and such (which is fine by me) so i'm just wondering. I'm just praying my classes dont get hard next semester and I can play a lot.

No, I have not worked on the site much. Once it is done, it will be hosted on www.GWOnline.net. The forums will stay here as Kaz said.

Hopefully, by the next GW weekend, we will have a couple pages of the site done. Then by the next GW weekend(January) it will be done and published.

We do have intentions of a limit. I do not think we will hit this limit until the game is released. Most of the people that we currently have on the list have not responded and I am not sure if they still have interest in being part of it. We were thinking of just letting it grow for a bit and see how it goes.

Ok thankyou for the update guys, I hope it didnt seem like I was complaining.

And Kaz, regarding membership, I was thinking that it was better to make the sites and such first, as they generally attract a larger sample of the population than one without a site. I in no way am trying to sound like an arse though, and I'm very sorry if I come off that way.

Also, I was curious as to a figure regarding the limit. Are we just trying to reahc 50, or is our limit a bit lower?

Fifty is about right. But we will se as we grow.

As for the webpage, what I really need is graphics designed. Anyone aritistic or good with photoshop?

Well, i have some photo editing skills. simply, i made my own avatars. granted i do use images from other sources...i do edit, resize, whatever them so that it works out nice. (what i mean here is that my avatar was once 3 different images from somewhere which i then edited to fit in there, then added my own background and text...) but im not very good with, nor do i have photoshop. (i use MS paint, and am somewhat efficient with it.) depending on what u need i might be able to help.
creating stuff from scratch is not my area at all, but working with allready set images is a different story.

Edit: changed stuff.

edit: typos, typos...im tired

as far as guild limit that WE set goes, I think it will change once the final comes out. If in fact Guild v Guild wars have like 38 or something people per side, I think more than 50 will be needed for sheer reliability :)

Nothing will be set in stone until the release of the game.

38 members per side? Thats a bit...durastic. That's not even common in fps. Seems like it will be less strategy and more ...well fps like. I hope its not that many. Maybe 16 at the very most. Still seems pretty high to me.

with 50 or even 38 on each side... wow.
ill need a new video card.

but anyways if it was to be 50 vs 50... that would be pretty damn awesome.

its called guild WARS after all.

you cant have a war of 16 vs 16, but 50 vs 50, FUN!

or can be a total embarrasment as well.

a suggestion they can do is have some type of increment for the number of players on each side. each guild would have to accept, or the server would look for those type of games.

starting from 20, then 30, 40, 50.

there is a decent article about upcoming PvP plans.
i cant directly link the URL because it has a forum, but you can find the URL on the official GW site on the most recent news update.

As you upgrade your guild hall, and as your opponents upgrade theirs, the map upon which you play will change in many significant ways. This will allow an expanding number of evolving and more complex strategies and a greater depth of play as time progresses.
upgrade your guild hall. o_O nice.
btw it stated that in a guild vs guild on certain maps, you start off at your guild hall. so i guess that guild hall has its uses?

Well, first of all, for the fashion-conscious amongst us, the guild cape is hard to beat! If no other guild benefit existed, looking good in town is a real plus!

i just saw the movie yesterday.

anyways check out xircon's screenshots, i prefer the bib a lot more.
i think everyone else in this forum does too.

capes are just too corny. besides, the cape is displayed all the time, whereas the bib does when you hover to the character, or in towns.

I like the cape.... Man I guess I'm the oddball. :p

But as far as everyone on the forum, I think the main reason it was changed was because of all the Bib complaints on the Guild Wars forum. Ofcourse now...they are complaining about the cape. o_O I just wanna stick with one thing, and though I'm not personally a fan of the bib, if thats what we wear....thats what we wear...not gonna stop me from playing. Make Guild Parkas for all I care. That actually would be cool in the Alpine Tableu area.

No, I like the cape much much better. The bib covered the front and back so you could not see your armour. The cape has much better movement when you are playing as well. Wait till you see it in the game.

~Kazama Fury~
28-11-2004, 18:41
but the cape is always on, so you can never see the person's back, right?
except when ur running, i assume it floats or something.

but with the bib, it wouldnt show sometimes unless you hovered to the char.

i guess you're right, ill have to see it.

28-11-2004, 18:45
o_O? What? You sure that wasn't just a display glitch? Mine and everyone's I saw were allways on in missions and towns/outposts.

~Kazama Fury~
28-11-2004, 18:50
well its not consistent, but i did notice how sometimes there was no bib until i hovered to the character.

did you look at my screenshots? if so, actually what you're saying is somewhat wrong. you stated that you saw that they were always on. however, i am sure you didnt notice, i havent either until i kept it in mind.

http://www.geocities.com/kazamafurydii/otherchar.html
look at the kaz of dii "clone" pics. when i took the screenshot of us being next to each other, she didnt have the bib on, however, in the next screenshot, i hovered (i assumed i clicked on her name, i dont remember), her bib was there.

one of the screenshots in my char section has my char in town with her soldier armor but no bib. so its not always on. even in town. i am certain there was a certain way to have the bib displayed or not, because i remember keeping it in mind everytime i took screenshots.

Decent forums? We have decent forums here. Plus when the site is done we can get it posted here. Can't beat that.

If you want to do some stuff in flash, that would be great. I suck at PS but I get by. Desperatley need images and such done. I also need help with general HTML stuff. Updating the site and stuff. Creating new pages. whatever.

Yes, I always saw it. I was kind of depressed because I was dying my armour and I could not see it.

so i was the only one experiencing this?

maybe its because i reduced the quality of my display?

Maybe, or that is the last graphic to be rendered and if you have a slower video card, you may not get to see it much unless you are not moving.

didnt kan finishing learning php?

i tried convincing him to play GW last time i called to him.
its gonna be weird.

the last time i played a game with him was apprentice iirc. or you can say i asked him a few time to help me mule on d2. :D

before that, we played some Red Alert and Alpha Centauri.

wow we are getting old. T_T

Tsume
06-12-2004, 21:46
...I still play Red Alert sometimes. Would play Dune too, but my friend stole it from me. Along with the Jackass movie I bought on a whim and dont really miss much, and he also owed me ...what..atleast a 100 bucks I'm sure. Not to mention I took a class for him over the 'net. Man.... I'm way to nice.

I really wish I knew some languages so I could help contribute to the construction of this site. I think I'm going to go buy some of those self teach books or some of the course books so I can learn some. I used to know more than I do now. :hanky: It's true that inactivity in areas can make you forget everything you ever knew, or maybe I just dont have a long term memory?

This happened to my sister. But, when she exit the game and came back on you can see the color then.
