View Full Version : Fan Fiction Forum Concepts
GWO now has its own version of The Dark Library, and it can be found at http://tdl.gwonline.net. Fan Fiction that is submitted in this forum can be put on TDL for everyone to read. Basically, by submitting your Fan Fiction (FF) to this forum, you are submitting it for revision and critique by your peers here on RPGForums.net.
Please do not take offense to any suggestions and/or revisions that people give, as they are only trying to make your FF that much better ;)
The exact manner of submission to TDL is not yet known to our staff, but we will let you know when we find out about it.
Ok, a little update on the whole submission thing. An'yee and iampunha have given me a link to a grammar guide (http://tdl.diabloii.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=27&page=1) and how to avoid some common errors. They also gave me a link to an artice about common writing errors (http://tdl.diabloii.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=26&page=1) and how to fix those.
They also ask that you read the FAQs (http://tdl.diabloii.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=FAQ&file=index) before you submit your story. If you need your story edited for spelling, grammar, etc, you can first submit it here for revision by one(or several) of your peers, or you can send it to iampunha at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also mail him with specific requests, but be sure to include your forum name in the email along with a brief description of the problem and/or request.
They indicated that they are more likely to reject a story for poor proofreading than for an unoriginal plot; that's all the more incentive for you to vet your material here before putting it through the TDL gauntlet.
One more thing: When you submit your story, it will ask you if you want to submit it in Visual Mode. Under no circumstance should you submit it in Visual Mode. It's more of a hindrance than a help. They request that you do not use Visual Mode, ever.
Make sure to read the FAQs and the articles before submitting your story to TDL. It will make their life, and yours, a lot simpler.
I have been informed that no one has submitted their stories to TDL yet. Please don't let all the things I said up there drive you away from submitting your story ;) I have seen some great stories here, worthy of submitting to TDL, so get to it all and submit your stories ;)
