When inserting key: network error 21

Hi guys/gals,
I gave a friends key to a friend but when he tried keying it in, he gets this error
"network error 21

Please check your connection"

I tried it myself and I got the same error he got.
It does mean that the key is valid. Could it be the server is down?
Any opinions will be appreciated. Thanks

I get the same error, and have contacted suppport. They're looking into it.

What may have caused this error to take place is that the server that handles account creations and access key registration may have been down for a brief moment. Please try again and see if you are able to complete the account set up process.
