Guild wars = great, versatile pvp with lots of strategy, teamwork, and challenge.
Super Mario Kart = great, versatile battle mode with lots of strategy, teamwork and challenge.

advantage = Guild wars.

Guild wars = tons of skills and subjobs allow for hundreds of combinations and builds.
Super Mario Kart = dozens of items and character styles allow for plenty of customizing for your particular play.

advantage = Guild wars.

Guild wars = characters and guilds can compete against each other to reach the top of pvp tournaments and guild rankings.

Super Mario Kart = players can compete against each other to reach the top of cup tournaments and time trials.

advantage = Super Mario Kart.

beaten 2 to 1, Guild Wars wins as the better game! Now if only they could get koopa and toad as character types, red shells and lightning bolts reign supreme! ^-^

Um, alenuska, do you have a personal thing against Reni? What's with all the negativity? It's like you're a necro or something :P

I can't tell if this is supposed to be funny or if you're serious.

D for effort, too over the top.

However, my apologise's if I came across as a tad harsh to Reni however I did not find her comment's terribly funny and I thought it best to be honest.. painfully in that regard.

Hello! I know that this is my very first post, no need to enlighten me about that. :P

I've been lurking for a while now, not having much to contribute as this will be the first BWE I'm participating in.

I felt compelled to jump in, however. I hate seeing a dog tear into someone for no reason, especially when the dog contributes nothing to the conversation and does said tearing with horrendous grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Not that I'd call anyone a female dog in the literal sense, of course - it's purely hyperbolic.

I might point out that this is hardly the first time this figurative "dog" has ripped into innocent others - one merely needs to click on the profile link to all posts by said individual to reveal a shocking history of flames, insults, bad punctuation and other indications of maturity level.

I might also point out that someone who doesn't find the humor in a situation might gain more from opening one's mind and viewing noted situation in a different light than from opening their ferocious maw to rain putrescence upon the meek.

In other words, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

shouldn't this go in the off-topic section? I mean, its very important and all it would seem to fit better there.

Sorry for everybody else, but I laughed out loud so hard when I read this post.

I have to agree here. On nearly every thread, I have seen flaming and/or abuse from this user. You have put this much more effectively than I ever could.

Lady, could you please try to be nicer? About half the forum has suffered at least one of your flames by now, many of which were uncalled for.
In fact, the first commandment of this forum is, word for word:

'1. Thou Shalt Not Flame. Even if you strongly hate the content of a post, and detest the individual to whom you're responding so strongly you dream of seeing Carvers playing softball with his internal organs, please exercise restraint and post without flames. (You are allowed, however, to make rude facial expressions and socially unacceptable hand gestures as you press "submit.") Do not bypass the word filter.

And in case you think you have freedom of speech...

10. Thou Shalt Not Mention "Freedom of Speech." Or we'll vomit. All over your Treads of Cthon, we promise you. This is a private forum, and you are our invited guests. The administrators have a tough job, trying to keep the forums clean and presentable while not willingly stifling open discussion. If a thread or post is locked or deleted, that was the necessary step to take in the judgment of the administrator. Please don't bandy irrelevant constitutional law and hope to plea the case for less "censorship." Don't start a vote, don't throw food, don't throw a hissy fit, don't light up torches and mob our central office. We don't censor, we exercise judgment and quality control on something in which we invest a lot of time and effort. We only accept posts written in English.

So there... :rolleyes:

Let me comment on this... I know Alenuska fairly well, we chat on irc/msn daily, and she's been having a hard time with these forums lately. The same starts to count for me too. I'm mostly talking about first time posters that just ask away without even looking at the search option, let alone using it. You have to admit that it is getting annoying to just keep on answering the same questions over and over. Check her earlier posts, and you'll see that she didn't do it in the past, but with more and more people coming on with the release date approaching, things get hectic and can be quite enervating at times.

Some of her recent posts are righteous, some are not, I agree. I also think that she crossed the line a couple of times, indeed, and I told her that as well. I just had a chat with her about this, and she agrees to take things a little calmer from now on.

Thx for listening,

Appreciated,

/Ice

I suggest revisiting the topic, at least twice more and make sure of it. There is no place for overwhelmingly negative comments, especially on repeat occassions. If you don't like something that's your choice, you do not however need (nor have the right) to post in a highly derogatory manner in response.

Anyway ...

Moved to Off Topic. Gave me a laugh, and hopefully others too, but I had to do it, sorry. WoW and Guild Wars are certainly two very different games that will appeal to different players, but they are contenders and posters do want to know about some of the high points of each, thus those threads remain in community.

Can we get an in-depth analysis of Guild Wars vs. Super Mario Brothers? Someone? :p

I listened. Thanks for talking to her. I know she used to type posts that were less... offensive. I've been watching this forum for some time. But take the post she put right above yours. That was very unprovoked. Flaming a new user who was just pointing out some issues is not the way you're supposed to act in these forums, regardless of how well they acted in the past.

And if someone is new, they won't automatically know about the search, or the questions they have may not even be in the forums. And some might want a new perspective on the same question.
And if she thinks they are stupid for not seeing the search, then why does she have to bother to flame each one? She can just leave them to the members that aren't annoyed or frustrated at the new member/s in question.

Just a few points.

Yes, I know, that was one of those I did not approve, and she realizes now as well that she went out of line. I understand why she did it, however, that doesn't mean I approve it.

Not much more that I can add here I think... I hope it will fade away...
