Ok... before flaming me with a "RTFM", I already did 8)... hear me out

Here's my issue. We need some sort of attack hotkey that does the same thing that a double click to the target does.

I am a warrior so don't have ranged spell buttons, well I do, but it's not always what I am trying to do. Sometimes a situation calls for me to simply start swatting a baddie about the head with my hammer. In order to do that I need to double click the target so I follow-attack it.

this isn't an issue when walking up on a creature and nothing is going on, but in the heat of battle, with all the fx flying about, it's *IMPOSSIBLE to see the cursor. For me to attack something in the heat of battle, I need to first find the mouse cursor, then hover over the target, and double click whatever it is running around so I start follow-attacking it. Not only that, but sometimes the creature is moving, fast. I go to double click it, and instead click the ground, if terrain is going off into the distance, sometimes I start running to 500m behind the target.

We have a target-closest key, how bout adding a "follow-attack" key. I know that most people in game are using spells or other ranged, so this isn't an issue for most people, but for me it makes tanking very very difficult, impossible sometimes. I have lost parties because I couldn't start swatting something to get it off of something or kill it quick enough. Every time its because I went to double click something to follow-attack and instead walked to the terrain location the mouse click landed on.

I love this game, but not having a follow-attack key, and trying to find the cursor in battle, will break me in PvP.

Having an attack key would also help ranged. Sometimes you want to target something and get to your range to attack. Simply clicking and targeting something keeps you rooted til they get within range for spells and arrows. I'd like to see a target key along with an attack key of some type. Currently it's the only thing I need the mouse for too. It would be king if I didn't have to reach for the mouse everytime I need to start attacking something that's out of range of my hammer.

Anyone else have this usability issue?!

Everything else is fantabulous!!!

thx,
Viza

Try your space bar... if you have a critter targeted and hit the space bar you will automatically follow and attack it. I typically find a quick combitation of "c" to target nearest, and "space" to run up and start beating on things... works well.

CTRL + Spacebar will say "I am attacking XXX!" and it does the same thing as double clicking :happy34:

and control + shift + spacebar announces you are attacking, plus "calls" the target. that means that other players can press T to target that enemy, too. remember only one person should be calling targets, to avoid confusion.

also, control + clicking on a stat (like your health, energy, and XP bars) announces its current and max value.

SWEET. I am now officially in gamer heaven. The targeting thing was easy for me, the follow attack had me confused. If you don't believe how painful it is try doubleclicking stuff in a battle LOL it's impossible with a screen full of fx and spells going on.

Hey I feel really dumb right now, but at least my question got answered! Thank you all for being so helpful instead of mean  I just couldn't find it in the control options.

I am liking this game (and the other players) more and more.
