my copy should arrive soon and im wondering how the whole exp gaining is diffrent from other mmorpgs. like if you kill something do you get exp from it still. cuz i read somewere you dont. and i heard that you dont gain levels by how long you play. so i was wondering if like say you spend an hour out hunting and killing stuff will you gain exp like other mmorpgs?
thanks

Exp is gained based on your level. For example if a lvl 1 character kills a moss spider they might get 100xp, but if a lvl 10 character kills the same spider they will get no xp at all. This is done to stop the problem of players constantly killing weaker enemies just for the exp. I think this is a great system as it rewards you for taking on more challenging enemies.

I agree, I hit lvl 7 in pre-searing Ascalon and was getting 0 xp from killing anything lower than lvl 2. I figured it was time to enter the Academy.
Play time and explored area have no bearing on XP gain. Only monster kills and quests completed.
(Exploring new areas does give small amounts of xp in WoW, but not in GW.)
